Game 9 - The "Toilet Bowl" vs Valparaiso L 21-41 (0-6, 1-8) - OrangeCamel - 10-31-2012 09:26 PM

Out of 246 teams, Sagarin has Valpo #245 and our Camels #246.

Someone will win this game. Someone will lose.

Valparaiso's board....

Wolf should lead the Camels to victory on Saturday and we begin our ascent in the Sagarin rankings to the #245 position; but hey, you got to start somewhere.

Campbell 28
Valpo 17

Go Camels!

I agree you have to start somewhere. I remember when I was a student our basketball team was consistently ranked over 300 in the RPI. I look for a Campbell win tomorrow if the defense can stop somebody.

Maybe we will win but I am not bold enough to predict a win. Last year we had a winning season and lost to Valpo.

Hopefully we will beat them. I agree with the Toilet Bowl analogy. Fight to see who is the worst team in Div 1 FCS. LOL

Another UNACCEPTABLE loss; at least we kept them under 70. I could provide commentary, but I'll keep my opinions to myself.

Yeah, now its time to clean house.

Embarassing loss. Sweep the house clean. We get beaten by 3 scores to the #245 team. There is a lot of room between # 245 and #246.

That game was crazy. They had 3 offensive plays all day, screen, flat, and run down the middle. UNBELIEVABLE we couldn't stop that after 3 quarters of them doing the same thing. Then the 4th down conversation, going for it all when we could've just used a first down, and rushing because you couldn't get the play in....... When you let a team come back from 21-0, its coaching. 03-puke

It was never 21-0. It was 21-7.

Also, alot of good/great teams blow leads at home. I remember a game in the Iron Bowl (AL/Auburn) in 2010 that immediately comes to mind. Saban (a great coach) blew a 24-0 lead to Gene Chizhik (a terrible coach) in Tuscalossa. So it happens to even great coaches because of great players.

In college athletics its not about the X's and O's. It is about the Jimmie's and Joe's. Meaning great teams have great players.

Regardless, we shall see if a new coach is the answer very shortly.

Comparing AL/AU to CU/VALPO - Really?

No. I am simply saying that ALL teams, good and bad, with or without good coaching, blow leads. Saturday was not about coaching, it was about depth. This team has none. That is all I was saying.

Simply pointing out that even the BEST program over the last four years in ALL of college football regardless of level, has blown a three touchdown lead. I am sure there are other examples as well. That is all.
