On paper, this should be a blowout for the TOPS but we don't play on paper. I watched the first half of the Troy/USA game on ESPN3....quite possibly the ugliest half of football I've ever seen. Most of that was because USA was so bad....penalty after penalty. As we all know, when you play a really bad team in basketball, they can make you look bad. This isn't always the case in football though, however, all the penalties and stoppages of play probably had an effect on Troy's flow. Nevertheless, I saw nothing from Troy that would make me believe they can compete against our defense, our offense, our intensity, our coaching...etc, etc, etc.
On the flipside, this will be a HUGE game for Troy and they'll likely pack the house. ASU was pumped in the first half against the Toppers and I believe played above their potential but the Toppers steadied themselves in the second half and wore them down.

I would love to make the trip but lack of vacation days will hinder that. I will be watching from home and plan on being satisfied. I wonder if we will start KJ or have Mauro go out and have KJ as an if necessary.

Coach T has shown over and over that Jakes is his man so I don't expect that to change if Jakes is healthy but boy does it feel good to know we have a backup should Jakes not be healthy or not effective against Troy.

if we play like we did 2nd half at asu we win big. we play like 1st half at asu we're in trouble.
i think we opened some eyes amongst asu fans. rest of the conference thinks we're pretty good. i think we have a chance to really open everyone's eyes up.
my gut tells me this is a really special team. our dee is what makes us special and playing without dowling shows we're not a one man team on that side of the ball.
