UVA is ranked #25 in the coaches poll. WVU is not ranked.

UVA is 3-1, WVU is 4-1

UVA lost to Maryland - a team that WVU beat on the road.
WVU beat Syracuse by 8. UVA beat Syracuse by 3.

UVA's wins? Syracuse, Western Michigan and Duke. Loss to Maryland

WVU's wins? Syracuse, Wofford, at Maryland and ECU. Loss to Virginia Tech.

Someone please tell me what I am missing here.....

Polls are voted by humans with prejudice. The perception of the BE is not good while they think the ACC is the shiets. The truth is somewhere in-between.

ACC has three good teams in FSU, VaTech and Miami. BE has some good teams that are not getting enough respect.

This is why we need a national playoff system cause humans, well, are humans and they make tons of mistakes.

The polls never make sense. The only thing they do is to create controversy - and that create talk on MBs and talk radio keeping interesting in College FB high.

Did you look at the polls when ND beat UM and lost to MSU?

Texas Tech was 3-0 and ranked #19 last week. Want to know who they beat?

I'm not discounting the idea of bias and/or ignorance, but let's clear up something. If WVU were to go 9-2, losing in a near-fluke manner to a 5-6 Pitt at the end of the season, should Pitt be ranked ahead of WVU? No, of course not. the assumption is if the teams played multiple times that WVU would win more often than not. That's part of the imperfect art of having polls which are based on human opinion.

I'd assume the margin of difference in consideration for WVU and UVA is very small. As it is UVA fell in the rankings and will likely be out all together after next week's game at BC. It just so happened UVA's loss came at the same time as WVU's, likely minimizing the amount of time for someone to sit and consider the two teams together.

Yeah, I hear TTU should get a great seed for the AA playoffs this year...
