The guy can't be too bright with this kind of resume. How do you lie on your resume when you know the info will be public at some point? It makes no sense.

I don't understand why scandals like this keep happening. Many people fluff up their resumes in the first few years out of school, in hopes that doing so will improve their job search odds, but at some point they need to sweep the untruths under the rug. This guy has been coaching for about 15 years. He should have gotten rid of the UWGB stuff a couple of jobs ago.
Did he attend the school at all? If not, why claim to have played on a team that made the NCAA Tournament several times in that era, which is much easier to check than some obscure NAIA school in the middle of nowhere? I still remember Tony Bennett draining threes all over the place and Jeff Nordgard later outplaying Jason Kidd to knock Cal out of the Big Dance.
Come to think of it, Tony Bennett is a pretty high profile college coach himself nowadays, and several of his teammates are probably in the profession as well. I wonder if Villanova started calling around to ask what kind of teammate this guy was and they were like "who?" Of course that should have been done before he was hired. Past schools also didn't check him.

In many cases, its almost silly for coaches to even have resumes...because odds are, they are being hired for what they ARE doing now or what they COULD be doing...and not what they did 5-10-15-20 plus years ago means squat.
Jay Wright hired this Martin guy because of his AAU & HS contacts in the Washington, DC area.
Wright didn't hire him because he played ball at a small school some 20 years ago.
No clue why certain candidates and employees can't just present:
HS Degree
College Degree
Current occupation
As all College Coaches are usually trying to "buy/hire access" to improve their recruiting.

If I was a coach with a decent pedigree, my resume would look like this:
John Doe
Adress
Phone Number
Current Occupation: Basketball Coach
That's it. Nothing else. Nothing for anyone to even look up. No facts to check. No dirt to dig up. Who cares if the resume only has a 4 lines to it? People only seem to care if you lie on your resume. They didn't geet hired because of their resume and they won't get fired because the resume SUCKS.

In this guy's case, I think it was more than just puffing up a resume, by saying he played ball at UW-GB, or wherever. Not only did they say he didn't play ball there, they have no record of him being a student there, so it's quite possible that he has no college degree.

They hired him to get Josh Hart and Phil Booth. They missed out on Stanford Robinson.
