I think you guys are even with the loss of FIU and North Texas. Texas St will bring more support than North Texas and Ga St should bring better support and excitement than FIU. I think you are on a good path going forward and there are other decent options for you if anyone else leaves or if you want to expand.

Nothing against fiu and denver but yes we are better off. Hurts to lose NT.

I think we're better off. Trading Texas State for UNT keeps us in Texas, and adding Ga State to replace FIU puts us in Georgia while FAU keeps us in Florida.

Yes and no.
Baseball has already improved Texas St + Ga St > FIU
Basketball improved slightly by losing FIU. I know Troy is bad but FIU had to be one of the worst FBS schools with a BB team in every category. And from what I understand Texas State, UTA, and Georgia State all have solid facilities and teams.
Football has not improved yet, if we land App State and Ga Southern every aspect of the Sun Belt will have improved. Losing FIU in football hurts because they turned into a regular winning program overnight.
I just don't see football "improving with Georgia State, Texas State, and South" They all have a lot of potential but it takes time to build a winning football team and it could be 3-6 years for those teams to likely even go 6-6.
I for one would be disappointing if we stop expansion with 10/12

Thus sayeth the basketball guy. And if basketball were my primary focus, I'd say with UTA expected to come in that on paper at least we look improved in basketball.
