Sun Belt Basketball - New & Old - Ole Blue - 05-02-2012 06:11 PM

So now that we're getting some new additions to the conference, let's talk some basketball. How are your basketball arenas? Please share info and pictures for those of us who aren't familiar with Texas State & Georgia State (and whoever may come in the future).

Middle Tennessee
Charles M. Murphy Athletic Center
Monte Hale Arena / The Glass House
Capacity: 11,802
Fun Facts: One of the loudest mid-major arenas in the country. Enclosed by glass walls, hence the name "The Glass House". Historic. Site of state basketball tournaments.

Haven't been to many other arenas but from what I'm told, its one of the nicest in the Belt along with WKU.

The Cajundome is a multipurpose facility seating 11,550 for basketball (14,000 maximum capacity in other configurations) with chair-back seating throughout the arena. The last renovation was in 2006 with upgraded high definition video boards, concert quality sound system, and NBA type arena ribbons between the first and second levels in the end zones.

Strahan Coliseum is what it is. You will have no problem curbstomping our MBB team

Capacity: 7200
I believe money has been budgeted for further renovations. Hopefully to get rid of that ugly wall

Wow...that wall is something. If that was taken out and replace with seats it would look a lot better.

Wow, that is weird. Ive never seen anything like that, a wall in the middle of the coliseum? It defies logic...

I've been to USA (of course), WKU, Troy, MTSU, ULL, and UNT's arenas (as well as UAB and UNO, both Lakefront Arena and UNO's gym).

Excluding UAB and UNO I'd rank them USA, WKU, ULL/MTSU tie, UNT and Troy. Of course UNT is headed to C-USA and Troy is getting their new arena, but I'm ranking them as of now. I hope I can make it up to Troy this year to see their new arena.

i'm hoping they get rid of it soon. our program needs to be gutted and rebuilt. we didn't buyout our hc's contract so were stuck with him for one more year. then i hope we good hire and start rebuilding our program so that we can fill the thing up.

NBA type ribbons but you don't have a replay monitor? Or did y'all ever get one? I think Ronnie Arrow is still mad about you guys not having one.
