House Rejects Obaffoon's Budget 414-0 ..... Again - SumOfAllFears - 03-29-2012 05:30 PM

House easily rejects Obama budget

RE: House Rejects Obaffoon's Budget 414-0 ..... Again - TampaKnight - 03-29-2012 06:10 PM

Wow, unanimous? Is that common?

RE: House Rejects Obaffoon's Budget 414-0 ..... Again - TOGC - 03-29-2012 06:13 PM

According to the article:

Quote:House Democrats floated three of President Reagan's budgets in the 1980s. Those budgets collected 28, 15 and one votes, respectively.

It's political maneuvering. Nothing more. It is hardly a rejection of the president's policy any more than it was when they did it to Reagan back in the day.

Yeah, but Obama has to explain it when it's thrown in his face during the campaign.

And he'll dispense with it just as easily as I did.

Obama has an easy path to victory over Romney.

Reagans budgets were rejected in part becuase the democratic controlled congress weren't comfortable with the depth of the tax cuts. Obama's is being rejected in part because of his insistance to raise taxes on some segments of the population as well as businesses.
Obama will dispense with it rather easily, if the media ever brings it up anyways, however questions will linger about his decision to try to raise taxes in tough economic times.

Your words are that of a mendacious fool. How are you going to enjoy 8 years under a Mormon President?

I like it when you call libs mendacious because I know they don't understand big words.

They don't get the little one either.

How do you figure that?

Fiscal conservatives won't vote for Romney because of the health care plan he had when he was governor.

Evangelicals won't vote for him because he's a Mormon.

He can't even rally the base. Obama beats him easy.

So who is going to vote for Obama in large numbers? Not blacks and Hispanics unless he ponies up slavery reparations and free citizenship. Maybe not too many gays since he is personally against same sex marriage. Environmentalists? Maybe some. There aren't enough hard core socialists, I mean liberals, willing to be embarrassed two elections in a row.

Obama will keep his base. He'll also get the majority of the independents.

Romney won't even get all his base.

Romney won't even get all his base.

It will all depend upon...1. The economy 2. The SCOTUS ruling on Obamacare. If both are in his favor...He wins in a landslide with the same voters as the last time. Mittens does nothing to draw independent and blue dogs away from Barry.

RE: House Rejects Obaffoon's Budget 414-0 ..... Again - TOGC - 03-30-2012 06:58 AM

The stock market has gone up and unemployment has gone down.

Unless the bottom drops out between now and election day, which is not likely, Obama gets a second term.

Republicans are hoping the economy gets worse. It's their only shot.

I tend to agree. It does not matter if Obama's policies or it is just a cyclical upturn...He will get the credit for it. He won't get my vote this time either(and neither will Mittens)..but..I believe he wins in a landslide.

Yes they will, because he's not Obama.

Quote:He can't even rally the base.

He will once he gets the nomination, because he's not Obama.

This election will be determined by the economy and Obama's record.

He has two major achievements his first term. The "stimulus" and Obamacare. The first was a failure and the second appears as though it could be ruled unconstitutional. Not exactly a great record.

You will vote for him because you are a sycophant TOGC. You, like many in the professional left, can't grasp that anyone would vote against him much the same way most on the left thought it incomprehensible Obamacare could be ruled unconstitutional.

The desire to get rid of Obama will far outweigh Romney's downsides and the groups you list will pull the lever for him.

Difficult proposition considering the states he has to hold to win.

All Mitt has to do is win NC, VA, Florida and Ohio and he takes the presidency. All of those are traditional Republican states with the exception of Ohio which leans republican. And Obama's approval rating in Ohio is completely in the tank.

You can look at national polls all day long, but the electoral math is where it's at. And in all those states Obama does not sit well from an approval standpoint.

Voting for a candidate because they "are not" the other candidate doesn't work as a campaign strategy. Ask John Kerry. No conservative is relishing the thought of voting for Mitt Romney, whom many describe as a RINO.

The stimulus worked.

Obama wins reelection easily. Republicans would be better served conceding the Presidential election and focusing on Congress. If they focus too much on the Presidential election, Obama's blowout victory of Romney will drag Republicans down in Congressional races.
