UC in review

Written by

Record: 24-10 (12-6 Big East)

Bid: At-large

Largest winning streak: 7

Longest losing streak: 3

Tournament temperature: Hot. The Bearcats won seven of their last nine games and made it to the Big East Conference final for the first time, beating four ranked teams, including second-ranked Syracuse.

Tournament take-charge guy: Senior forward Yancy Gates was a beast inside for UC in the Big East tournament, averaging 16.7 points and seven rebounds. As the only truly big man in UC’s four-guard lineup, he has shown the ability to dominate a game against some of the best teams in the country.

Tournament trouble spot: The Bearcats don’t have much depth, which could take its toll physically after their deep run in the Big East tournament. Coach Mick Cronin has been going with basically a six-man rotation that includes Justin Jackson with occasional cameo appearances by guard Ge’Lawn Guyn and center Cheikh Mbodj.

umm they are all 21 and under, they have 6 days of rest, and if they win, play Sunday. What's the problem?

I also count a winning streak of 7 starting after the XU game.

Nice to see he was able to get us a win against Marshall.

Where are the attendance figures?

RE: UC in review - WarningSigns - 03-13-2012 01:50 PM

In order for Mick to keep his streak of improving wins every year, we'll need an Elite Eight appearance.

That was a review?, it wasn't even an abstract.

RE: UC in review - Bruce Monnin - 03-13-2012 04:21 PM

It is actually a decent quick summary for people who have not followed UC this year.
