Huskies at Combine - Milhouse - 02-26-2012 08:48 AM

Is Harnish the only Huskie that was invited to the NFL Combine?

Yes. There will be a "pro Day" at NIU for Wedige, Olson & others on 3/9.

Woke up early to watch Chandler run his 40 and they didnt even show either of his runs our even talk about him period bc they were so focused on RG3. I'm annoyed...

Chandler clocked in at 4.75 and 4.69 unofficially. 4th best amongst QBs thus far

RE: Huskies at Combine - thxjoenovak - 02-26-2012 10:11 AM

Just saw him throw a couple as a "volunteer" thrower to the WRS.

I believe he's #7 if that helps spotting him.

I was equally annoyed that RG3 stole the stage and Harnish followed right after him. I was hoping for a little faster of a 40 time for Chandler, but glad to see he ran sub 4.7.

I didn't realize it started so early, so I didn't start recording until I got up (about 45 minutes ago).

Annoyed that I didn't get to see his runs...but it looks like nobody got to see his runs.

RE: Huskies at Combine - NIU32 - 02-26-2012 10:55 AM

its awesome seeing Chandler throw to guys like Justin Blackmon who is just an absolute freakshow, but seriously, what is up with Mike Mayock and the NFL Network? Do they not like Harnish? Mayock didnt mention him once when covering the East West Shrine game, and today at the combine they havent even mentioned his name once after all these throws. Not once!

Hes been throwing well today too. Its disappointing to see the lack of coverage thus far.

Analysis of Chandler from NFL.com below. Interesting, looking back at Dan Lefevour's analysis from 2010, there are a lot of similarities.

STRENGTHS Harnish is a powerful and effective scrambler and a better thrower on the run than he is in the pocket. He is a gamer; understands how to run an offense and when to pick his spots to take off running. Harnish is a fast and explosive athlete who uses good judgment as a passer. Has had the type of productivity that is noticeable despite playing in a small conference.

WEAKNESSES Harnish has the arm strength, frame, and mentality to be a starting quarterback at the next level, but his accuracy is so off at times that it brings his value all the way down to late rounds. He will struggle early on adjusting to the speed and timing of NFL offenses.

But he's smart and determined....so he'll get used to it!!!

I've seen some throws of Harnish that were well off the mark but I never knew if the WR went where he was supposed to, if Harnish was throwing the ball out of bounds on purpose, etc. Interesting that this analysis at least says he does have the arm strength to be a starter.

Agree. The accuracy thing is Chandler's biggest hurdle to overcome, IMO.

You would think that if his accuracy was so off at times, that he'd throw more interceptions. But....he doesn't.

There were some he threw that probably should have been picked off. But I think more often he erred on the side of caution and threw it away from everyone rather than take a chance on a pick.

RE: Huskies at Combine - huskiebob - 02-26-2012 12:44 PM

Chandler missed some throws he needed to make in the Shrine game. There were a lot of NFL scouts there; that probably hurt Chandler's stock a little. Hopefully, a good performance today brings it back up.

You can say that about every quarterback ever. But you can't argue that he was 13th in the NCAA in interception percentage and 15th in rating. Those aren't the stats of an "inaccurate" quarterback.
