And yet his only other offers were Memphis and Marshall.

That's what happens when there are questions about academics or character. Doesn't mean he is not the top talent though.

This coming from a fan of a school that had a major scandal on point shaving. Talk about kids with character. Short memories I guess. Don't throw stones, it can come back on you.

Unfortunately Brian is right and the benefits often come to the Marshalls, Toledos and WMU's. Hell Temple went into a residential facility for juvenile delinquents to get a kid that will make some money in the NFL and turned out ok.

I'm pretty sure that Wilson has no character problems and will be a great physical and character addition to the long line of great WMU wideouts.

Herd,

It's pretty known in South Florida that if a kid has talent and may be an unfished golden gem Doc Holliday or Bill Cubit is going to find him. . They have recruited South Florida for over 30 years. Both have coached at BCS schools, Doc was an asst. HC and Cubit was an OC at several bigtime BCS schools, as well as a coach @ Florida and UCF. They are thought of quite highly in South Florida and are often mentioned on talk radio (Joe Rose)/newspaper (Larry Bluestein) down here as the best.

Appreciate all of the comments, some good reads here.

Just a quick FYI of how I compiled this information, and the key word is compile. I go to the all of the public areas like Rivals, ESPN, Scout, etc. and use their individual scores such as a 78 or 5.6, etc. I then aggregate these into an Excel file and utilize a common factor so that all end up with the same numeric system in order to compare apples to apples. After that I use regional reports and local write ups to add in a supplimental figure since people like Mick McCabe of the Detroit Free Press and Ohio High (and many others) tend to know their areas far better than the national sites.

After that I rank high to low and end up with about 30 players who clearly score higher than the rest. Finally I review some film when it's public of these "finalists" for any changes & tweaks that jump out at me. Kind of geaky I guess, but then again, I challenge anyone who makes a MAC recruiting ranking who puts as much effort into their final list and who also tries to eliminate as much bias from any one source feed.

Over the past decade more than 50% of my top-20 have eventually earned some sort of all-conference honors during their MAC tenure. I guess that's as good as you can get considering about 20% of my top-20 never make through four years of a college football career for a variety of reasons.

Entil next recruiting season - thanks all !

Let's not act like Bernard is some kind of thug. He had to go to Glen Mills for one year and opted to finish HS there.

You want to give him credit for opting to finish HS there, but the fact remains that "he had to go to Glen Mills for one year". I don't get how being placed in a non-voluntary program in lieu of incarceration and opting to stick around for a second year somehow gets you bonus points in life. A truly changed person wants to get out of there and away from that ASAP, not stick around another year because now these other thugs are your buddies.

RE: 2012 MAC Football Recruiting Report - JHG722 - 02-26-2012 04:23 PM

He would not have been in jail.

You're right, they get sent to Glen Mills for missing Sunday school.03-shhhh

Believe me Glen Mills does not want to have them there for more than the COURT'S allocation time ( which by the way is never a DEFINITIVE one year, it's evaluated by monthly and sent to the court w/a minimun time period). This is a sentence not an option. I'm glad the kid turned it around but for any Temple apologist, JH appears to be the only, to suggest this outragous and ill informed comment shows the lack of credibility.

That being said hopefully Pierce does well in the NFL and keeps his buddies out of his success and directs his attention to success.

Polish you are spot on with this one.

Hell he would not have been. It's a court ordered option to jail. Had he not been given this option , it's jail.

Your characterization of Bernard couldn't be further from the truth. I know him and went to HS with him before he was sent to Glen Mills. Can't say the same for you.

Ok, he was never court ordered to go to Glen Mills ? He went voluntarily correct ? You say he was SENT to Glen Mills in Delaware County. Who sent him ?

I addressed the procedures of Glen Mills and the Juvenile court system, no more, except how it would've gone down with the young man.

As for the characterization of the young man, it was actually of a kid who turned his life around positively.

You appear to have no clue how the system works and are just throwing erronious claims that you got called on.

Talk about what you know of and you'll be better off.

You have to go with your daddy or take an ID from an adult to see it. It's not for kids like you.

There you go again...
Really kid, if you toned down the all things Temple arrogance, maybe you would not make yourself such a target of ridicule...
