As to the religion, it's got to be those darn Amish getting all uppity again.
Of course, with the source being what it is, we all know the code. If the story involves terrorism and religion isn't mentioned, we know the score.

It does seem cheap. I also find it odd that they insisted on beheading instead of just taking the witnesses out. Apparently they are also micromanagers.
