Doeren mentioned this on the post-game interview. It irked him that so many people leave before the end of the game. Of course, he's right. He asked people to come out and stay the whole game.
With the fun we had at the game on Saturday, why would anyone want to leave early? I guess the students were just there to party, and the game meant little to them. I can't understand it. Then again, I can't understand all the people in the West parking lot who never leave their tailgate areas to march their fat arses into the stadium and watch the game. One of the friends I was with left the game in the third quarter because she wasn't feeling well, and she went to rest in the car. She could not believe all the idiots in the parking lot. To all the arses who like to tailgate through the game, I would like to offer my driveway as a place where you can come to tailgate. My rates aren't all that high, and I even provide free dunce caps and an "I Am Stupid" T-shirt!

it likely irks him in particular for he was accustomed to the traditions at Wisky.
UW students and band are nerally forced by security to leave the party in the stands after the game ends.
Are their 18 - 20 yr olds any less interested in football than NIU 18-20 yr olds?
If we need a gimmick to start a tradition and break the habit then have VCB promote and award one random NIU student exiting the game after 00:00 with a semester of free textbooks.

I don't blame the coach for saying something about it, obviously he's not used to it, and if we were losing by 30 points it would be more understandable. It wasn't any different when I went there in the 80s, me and one friend would stay for the whole game, lots of others would leave.
I don't feel bad for the coach though, I feel bad for the players. They deserve better.
