What ACC team wouldn't be missed? - AtlanticLeague - 09-29-2011 11:45 AM

Prior to the Pittcuse addition, there were the occasional calls to drop BC due to its distance from the core of the league. I see calls for Maryland to be dropped because our fans are kind of jerks and we're not a southern state.

So in an effort to incite discussion, I pose the question:
What ACC school wouldn't be missed if it left?

Personally, I wouldn't miss NCState. I'm not sure what void would be created in their absence.

Wake Forest is the obvious pick.

I suppose in the future this will include a number of mentions that Pitt and Syracuse could be dropped without anyone missing us but that's kind of par for the course in being one of the new guys on the block. If we both start winning, though, that would be a harder call to make.

Troll...05-nono

I can't think that anyone would care if Boston College left the conference. They brought nothing to the conference, and as such would take nothing away.

Wake Forest/NC State. The ACC have enough North Carolina schools?

Boston College can only get better now. Having Northern schools and a rival in the conference will help them. What kid from the Northeast would want to go to BC to travel the South all year? Now Boston College will have games throughout the Northeast allowing them to recruit Northern kids.

That's why they fell off in football and especially basketball.

Is this thread really necessary?

Can't we all just get along...or pretend we get along?!? 03-lmfao

Cheers,

FTFY.

Boston College could have left and noone south of College Park would notice.

The ACC was founded from the remnants of the Southern Conference. Since the beginning, Maryland was the team farthest north. BC made no sense when they added them, and have become even more worthless than when they joined.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Miami.

I am not familiar with the ACC teams as Syracuse has not joined yet. Now there will be 4 northern teams, Maryland, BC, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. I guess this will help with recruiting for the northern teams.
