Story starts on the front page of the 'Post Standard' - Cantor's Play-By-Play, of Su's Move To ACC

The story's too long so i'll get straight to where people jumped the gun. This story is not online sorry. Its in the newspaper.!
In the news release that announced Su's move, Cantor said,"We look Foward to bringing ACC games to the Big Apple." The new conference means SU will play basketball powerhouses North Carolina and Duke in home conference games. Those Three teams have won the natiomal championship five out of the past 11 seasons. But Central New Yorkers might have to travel on occasion to see the showdowns.
"We havent gotten that far, but we absolutely have plans to do that-absolutely," Cantor said of moving some SU home games to a New York City arena, such as Madison Square Garden. "I wanted to make sure that(the ACC was)interested in playing competitions in the New York City area, because thats very important to us,"Cantor said."We see ourselves as New York's college team."
That doesnt mean fans wont be able to also catch the North Carolina and Duke games in the Carrier Dome some seasons, she said. "I'm really looking forward to the day we get 60,000 Central Yorkers in the Carrier Dome for Duke or North Carolina,"Cantor said. Su remains committed to keeping those games at the Dome on a regular basis, she said.
Im not going to right the rest, just what made everyone paranoid about 'Su Taking Duke & North Carolina home games to MSG?' - its not happening. Boeheim, Dr Gross, and fans, just jumped the gun. Cantor only contradicted herself about taking HOME GAMES - what it should of read" NON-Conference HOME GAMES. yes its a big boo boo, but i understood it, when it kept reading till(60,000 CNYers @Dome). Conference HOME Games(Duke,Unc,FSU,etc..,) at the dome. Big non conference(kansas, mich, ohiost,etc.,) at Msg or possible Barclay's in Brooklyn.

Getting 60K for a basketball game would be an amazing site. Would be awesome to see that atmosphere.

I've been wanting them to play against Gtown or Villanova full length for years.

How would they get 60k? The Dome only seat 50k. Unless they moved the court to the middle of the field, and set up metal chairs all round the court and field.

Agreed, and the Dome officials refuse to sell tickets to seats without a full court view so paying customers can see the whole game. No 60,000 at a Dome game.
For those new to the Dome configuration, the court is placed at one end and runs sideline to sideline in direction at one end of the field. Seating is at one end zone and the sides. Bleachers and a curtain are raised midfield and this gives the appearance of a typical basketball court, except 30,000+ fans can attend, all with good views of the game. Nothing like a game with 30,000 close friends cheering on the Orange.

I don't read her comments to say that SU would or would not play ACC home games at MSG on occasion. I just read it to say that they expect to play home games there on occasion and that she wanted to make sure that was ok with the ACC (like they would say NO?).
I'm guessing whatever their current practice is will continue. If they currently play home OOC games at MSG then I would expect they will occasionally continue, or, if they currently don't do that then I would expect in the future they will try it. I wouldn't read any drastic changes into this, though.

we got rid of the curtain a couple of years ago. thats why we can sell seats way up to the corner on break the record nights.
i could envision the court at midfield with chairs/ standing room on one side. and maybe the students and band on the other?
