CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Head coach Mark Dantonio will welcome 105 players to his second University of Cincinnati preseason football camp as the Bearcats begin preseason practice on Friday.
The players are expected to report at mid-day on Friday and will be involved in a series of orientation meetings on Friday afternoon and evening. The schedule gets busier on Saturday with position meetings during the morning. The team’s first practice on the field is Saturday at 3:40 p.m.
The team will have that same basic schedule for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with the Bearcats holding one on-field practice in abbreviated gear each afternoon. The Bearcats will depart for their camp at the Higher Ground Conference Center in West Harrison, Ind. on Tuesday where they will begin full contact practices on Tuesday afternoon.
The pace at practice will be brisk as the coaching staff prepares the Bearcats for their first season in the BIG EAST Conference. UC has 11 seniors and 36 lettermen returning from last year’s 7-5 season, but has starters returning at only six positions.
