Official Saint Bonnie Thread - insideualr - 01-02-2011 10:24 PM

Round 2 time to get even.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - outsideualr - 01-03-2011 04:53 PM

Revenge is always sweet. St. UALR over St. Bonnie.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - LRTrojan - 01-03-2011 05:07 PM

What has St. Bonaventure done since we played them?

6-4 since then with wins over Cornell, Binhamton, Buffalo, Ohio, St. John's and Siena. Losses to Cleveland St., Niagara, Va Tech and Marshall. Still a pretty good team. We'll have to earn it.

You beat me to it Pappy. They have played a schedule pretty comparible to ours, with quite similar results. I'm betting on the home court being the difference this time around.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - outsideualr - 01-03-2011 06:03 PM

I think our big men will have to contribute more if we are to win. Of course if Solo, Alex, Courtney and Matt each score 25 points, we will probably win anyway.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - Karl B - 01-03-2011 10:45 PM

I think we find a way to win, 67-62

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - outsideualr - 01-04-2011 12:15 AM

I think we need at least 70 points to win.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - eh9198 - 01-04-2011 12:56 AM

I think we lose, as crappy perimeter defense gets us again, and they light it up. Again.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - MICHAELSPAPPY - 01-04-2011 08:17 AM

They do not shoot the 3 particularly well as a team (32.2%), but they have three players who can light it up. We had better know who they are and where they are. They have a big rebounding advantage.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - Scotto - 01-04-2011 08:35 AM

And 4 averaging double figure, with one averaging in the 20's.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - insideualr - 01-04-2011 08:38 AM

We win, they will be tired from traveling hire and we need the win, so Steve will have them fired up and ready to play.

RE: Official Saint Bonnie Thread - Scotto - 01-04-2011 08:58 AM

Oh boy, another "coach-up" effort. Can't wait. I'm going with a 12 point loss. St Bonnie has too many scorers.

How long has it been since this program has had a player average 20 points for the season. Or has it ever happened in D1 ball? I haven't looked it up. I'm pretty sure Fish didn't, and I think Malik might have come close, but don't think he made it. Don't have time right now, but it will be interesting. Maybe Barky or Nich Zachary? I just can't recall any.

Those ppg numbers are deceiving. Looking at their stat sheet, one reason for that is that their starters play an unusually high percentage of their minutes.
40.5 (due to a lot of overtime)
38.0
37.2
32.5
27.3

Their #6 player averages 12 minutes per game. After that it drops to 9. VERY short rotation.

St. B has scored a total of 30 points as a team in overtime this season.

Chas does it routinely.

I take that as their coach is confident that those 6 guys are his best shot at executing his system. That, or the other guys on the team are really bad.

Did James Scott never average 20 points a game?
