Can't unring the bell, the cat's outta the bag, and the horse is out of the barn, everyone already knows the story behind the scanners and the groping. If the banning is true expect the unexpected from the traveling masses and reporters.

The TSA Screening Area is under Federal Jurisdiction. Even the TSA allows supposedly videos

"We don’t prohibit public, passengers or press from photographing, videotaping, or filming at screening locations. You can take pictures at our checkpoints as long as you’re not interfering with the screening process or slowing things down. We also ask that you do not film or take pictures of our monitors.

However… while the TSA does not prohibit photographs at screening locations, local laws, state statutes, or local ordinances might. Your best bet is to call ahead and see what that specific airport’s policy is."

The Local or State Law should be prempted by the Federal Policy/law/ guideline. Nowhere in the Aviation and Transportation Security Act does it outlaw video or photography at checkpoints-- yet.

I'm not sure I agree w/ that. But it does seem as if the TSA is playing both sides, it uses Fed law when it suits them, then looks to State/Local laws when it suits them.

The airport's rules aren't necessarily the law. And the law isn't always legitimate. I believe you have the right to videotape this. It is happening in plain sight of hundreds of witnesses (tough to argue that its not public) and if you DO say that your ticket is some way to relinquish your rights the screening is often taking place within sight range of non-ticketed persons.
