I love Family Guy but don't care much for the other two. The Cleveland Show is garbage, should have never done a spin-off. Family Guy was perfect with the 4 of them together.

Sums up my issue with the spin offs... it IS the same show with different characters.

Black Dynamite / animated / Adult Swim
--I loved the live action movie.... this animated one...man.... they went there with young Michael Jackson.... I got no idea how to explain it except it is over the top.... LOL.

The Amazing Spider-Man was pretty damn good. It was a superhero movie with heart.

I'd like to see Hollywood do a movie with a concept was wasn't thought up over 50 years ago...

Agreed, the guy who played Spidey was much better than Tobey McGuire IMO.

I thought Ted was hilarious. For me it was like Family Guy if you took all the stupid crap out of it and were left with the one liners and references.

As for South Park, I used to be a die hard fan but it's gone way downhill. I completely stopped watching because they basically take jokes and run with them for way too long. They've also gone overboard with the poop, masturbatory, fart jokes. That's not the south park I love

RE: The movie thread - bitcruncher - 07-18-2012 01:05 PM

I don't have any problem with South Park, swoosh. Since DirecTV and Viacom are having a dispute, I no longer get Comedy Central...

casa de mi padre. awesome. homage to the telanovelas. i've never seen one personally, but my sporadic respect for will ferrall is homeostatis. we're cool.

I watched Mystery Men for the first time the other day. I thought it was pretty good, and was fairly surprised I hadn't heard of it until then, considering I've heard of other Stiller movies from the time (Zoolander, Meet The Parents, etc). Certainly not his best work, but it was decent and had a few good laughs in it.

I know it's not a movie, but I'm also watching Arrested Development right now. Again, my age kind of restricted me from watching it while it was on tv, but I absolutely love the show. It has to be one of the best, if not, the best sitcom I've ever watched, the cast is fantastic, and it uses comedy in brilliant ways. Great, great show.

Dark Knight Rises is pretty solid IMO.

They touch on so many story lines.

Only real issues I had was Bane's sometimes muddled voice. I also think they should have explained the mask more than they did.

So you don't think it's lost a step?

RE: The movie thread - bitcruncher - 07-21-2012 07:02 AM

The older South Parks are better. These days Futurama is the better show...

RE: The movie thread - BlazerJoe - 07-21-2012 02:42 PM

The Dark Knight Rises was fantastic!

We're on a blind date with destiny, and she's orderin' the lobster. 03-lol
