Man, what a great building. Its too bad it is in such bad shape. It would awesome if it could refurbish it. Maybe if Crosstown is a success someone will be motivated enough to give it a try.

Asbestos is everywhere from what I've heard making removal costs sky high.

There is also and issue with the land owner being different from the building owner from what I remember too. Also, it's on the national historic register so whatever you do to it is limited.

Old buildings were made with old materials and have smaller spans and lots of column. That is a problem when you want to turn it into condos or offices space. Lots of work to get it up to current design code with ADA, asbestos, seismic, etc.

Great looking building but I don't see a way to make it a financially viable development. Hopefully someone way smarter than me has an idea that is feasible
