RE: Introduce Yourself Here - HOF 08 - 03-28-2019 03:16 PM

Grew up 20 minutes from Dekalb and have been a Huskie fan since 1965 so I guess I’ve have more behind me than in front so to speak. I was an athlete at good old NIU and graduated in 1972. I have been a season ticket holder in FB men’s and women’s BB and more recently volleyball. To many memories to list but I will proudly say as the teams enter the fields/arenas I’m on my feet and it’s a very special feeling when I hear the Huskie fight song. Go Huskies!!

Welcome to the board! It's always nice to get new perspectives on all things NIU.

Thanks NIU007 I look forward to reading the posts from all the knowledgeable NIU fans.

Hello Huskie Fans! I graduated from NIU in 2001 and I'm a huge fan of the football program. I live and work in the west suburbs and typically go to 2-3 games a year. I've been reading the board for a few years and finally decided to register. Extremely excited about this season, Go Huskies!!!

Hmm, I never introduced myself, but here goes. I graduated in 2011 with my undergrad. Originally from Hawaii, I moved here in HS, and in addition to NIU I also rep the University of Hawaii.

I bleed Red and Black because I really like the underdog attitude of the entire University. Most kids at NIU aren't from wealthy families and typically are the first in their families to go to college. When we hit the workforce, we never back down (Big Ten kids are above things sometimes) and take on any task. We don't have much, but we make the best out of everything we have. Just like our football team, we were probably overlooked for being too small, too slow or to short. But line us up against anyone, like Ohio State, and we will go toe to toe for 4 quarters.

I live and work near O'Hare. Typically I try to make it to at least one game a year, of which I tailgate with my college friends. This year marks my first year as a season ticket holder and I've been to two MAC Championships. Both times we won!

Hello friends.

I’m an EMU alum, but as a kid I lived in Woodridge for several years. Hence the soft spot for NIU.

Good luck this year.

Oh nice, I met some folks for Woodridge recently. Are you in Michigan now? I always find it interesting meeting people from Michigan and having them show me on the palm of their hand where they live.

A lot to be proud of, EMU is no joke. You guys can hang. Chris Creighton has done a great job up there.

I’m thinking we both played our worst game this week, but I’m much more optimistic about your ability to recover.

Question: Is your name accurate? Did you grow up in Hawaii and attend NIU?
