- DawgNBama - 06-20-2003 08:08 AM Per Matt Hayes of the Sporting News, John Robinsion said he was stepping down from the AD job because of family health reasons, but there may have been a different reason as to why he stepped down. There is a campus police investigation going on about reports that as many as 200 athletes & students were using an athletics dept. long distance account to make more than $10,000 in personal calls. Quoting Hayes here, "The potential infraction is regarded as an 'extra benefit' and a secondary NCAA violation, which could keep UNLV-whose men's basketball team is already on probation until until 2004- from any death penalty consideration." Double ouch!!!  :ninja: - rocketfootball - 06-20-2003 08:56 AM I heard about this before. The UNLV b-ball fans are definitely worried something might come out of this since they are already on probation. |
