K-State will announce a 8-year, $15 million contract with
Nike for all team sports in the next week or two. This deal will put
us in the top 4-5 college universities in terms of marketing and
payout.
Weiser has been working on this for about 4 years and until Huggins was
hired there was not much interest from Nike on any sport besides
football. Now with Huggs there is all kinds of interest and
excitement.
