This made me bawl when I heard it on the radio today...

Did it make you bawl because another great song has been remade (YEAH Brian Adams!) or do you think it's a touching song?

Was that song written about 9/11??

I didn't think it was.

Love the techno beat in it though. Nice to see more and more electronica making its way to radio. Now, to just get some Oakenfold or Van Dyk on there!!!

If that song was written about 9/11, then Mr. Adams had some nice Miss Cleo skills....

And I'm a fan of the Adams version myself -- but I'm old school.

Okay...which version did you guys listen to???? The one I'm talking about is the DJ Sammi re-mix with the little girl talking about "it's been a year now, daddy...".

*Thoroughly confused now*

Link to the actual song...

Try this...it should start out with a little girl going "It's been a year Daddy. I really, really miss you. Mommy says you're safe now, in a beautiful place called Heaven."

By the way people...I finally figured out that everybody piped up without listening to the song...might want to know what you're talking about before you get all sarcastic next time.

I assume that's aimed at me -- I'm sorry if I seemed to be trying to shoot anyone down with my sarcasm that was aimed at GTS (and I know that he can take it, or I wouldn't have dished it out). I only intended to say that Bryan Adams indeed wrote the original version of the song, and he did so a LONG time ago.

I've heard a remake of the song that I assume is different from the one y'all are talking about -- I liked the Adams version better myself.

I can't listen to the version you've linked because I'm at work... but is this a Bryan Adams remix with a beat added?

I know what you're talking about LRT cause I actually listened to the song before I posted this comment. Something most on this thread didn't do.

And yeah...that is really sad. But so touching that a little girl can be that strong.

JD...I was frustrated that people were commenting on things while obviously lacking knowledge of what I was talking about. I didn't realize that you were aiming your sarcasm at GTS, tho'...and I'm sorry about that. However...my message wasn't aimed at just you.

The song is a very slow rendition of the song with nothing but a piano and strings in the background. Interspersed in the breaks of the lyrics is a little girl talking to her daddy in heaven. She says things like "We had your favorite dinner tonight. I ate it all up! Even though I don't like carrots." and "I can swing on my own now! Even though I miss you pushing me. Can't you see me?" It's obvious that the little girl's daddy died in the 9/11 tragedy...and it breaks your heart the first time you hear it. I guess that's why I got so mad with people making fun. Sorry.
