- GDawgs88 - 04-25-2003 10:34 PM Who's your pick to win it all? I said in spring training that Minnesota would beat the Braves in 6. Now I'm saying the Yankees over San Francisco in 5 games. - JoltinJacket - 04-26-2003 01:11 AM Unless the Yankees choke, they should have no problem buying another championship. At this pace, they'll win about 130 games. I wouldn't be surprised to see the *gasp* Cubs in the Series. I think Dusty Baker and their great young pitching could carry them that far. - techfan4 - 04-26-2003 07:07 AM Braves vs. A's A's win it all MARK IT DOWN - 10MAN - 04-26-2003 08:55 AM JoltinJacket Wrote:I wouldn't be surprised to see the *gasp* Cubs in the Series. The A's will beat the Braves. - GDawgs88 - 04-26-2003 01:20 PM techfan4 Wrote:Braves vs. A'sI'll do it.
- 10MAN - 04-26-2003 05:52 PM Cubs or Braves vs. Yanks or A's I would love to see the Cubs-Yanks, though!
- whos_your_dawgy - 04-26-2003 06:48 PM Someone explain this whole "Braves to the World Series" thing. I don't even know if they'll make the playoffs. - 10MAN - 04-26-2003 11:26 PM whos_your_dawgy Wrote:Someone explain this whole "Braves to the World Series" thing. I don't even know if they'll make the playoffs. Most of the posters here are Braves' fans, that's what it is...... Just kiddin', they have been the measuring stick for the NL the last decade or so, and until they are dethroned "for good", they have to be the favorites, in my opinion. Sure, they started out slow, but they have quickly returned to winning. Nobody has proven they can beat us. - GDawgs88 - 04-27-2003 12:23 AM whos_your_dawgy Wrote:Someone explain this whole "Braves to the World Series" thing. Nobody has proven they can beat us.Until History starts pitching, it has no bearing on this season. I don't know what four teams will make the playoffs, but here are my thoughts anyway. The Giants should win the West. The Dodgers, Dbacks, and Padres don't have the hitting to compete, and the Rockies don't have the pitching. I think the Cardinals will probably win the Central, but the Cubs are playing really well right now. The Astros should also be there at the end. I think that out of the Cubs/Cards/Astros, two will make the playoffs. With the unbalanced schedule, they'll get to beat up on Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati more than the other divisions. That leaves one playoff spot for the East. I like what the Phillies did in the offseason and think they'll win the division. The only thing I don't like about the Phillies is having Jose Mesa as closer. That'll probably cost them ten games this season. The East is going to be the toughest division in the NL this year, and it wouldn't surprise me to see any of the five teams win it. So, let's say the Braves do win the East. How are they going to get to the World Series? Could Maddux, Hampton, and Ortiz win a five game series from Prior, Wood, and Clement or Morris, Williams, and Tomko? I don't see that happening. <!--EDIT|whos_your_dawgy|Apr 27 2003, 08:09 AM--> - GDawgs88 - 04-27-2003 02:03 PM whos_your_dawgy Wrote:So, let's say the Braves do win the East. That seems like enough to me. - GDawgs88 - 08-28-2003 03:29 PM Hey, wyd. Still think Philly will win the East? ROTFLMHO!  Another year, and the Braves are cruising again. This is another perfect example of why you don't listen to the "experts". - techfan4 - 08-28-2003 04:27 PM Did I say the A's? I meant the Yankees

If I've calculated correctly, Oritz, Maddux, and Hampton have a better record than Prior, Wood, Clement or Williams, Tomko, or Morris. Quote:I don't see that happening. I do! - flyingswoosh - 08-28-2003 05:44 PM I think the Giants are going to the WS. I know I'm biased, but i think the Giants are the least flawed team in the League. In the AL I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the White Sox are going to make the WS. I can't predict who will win, but it better be the Giants! - GDawgs88 - 08-29-2003 03:09 PM flyingswoosh Wrote:I think the Giants are going to the WS. He's won 16 games this season. He's averaged over 7 innings/start for the Giants and has a 3.25 ERA with them. Rueter is an amazing clutch pitcher (except last year against the Braves) and Jerome Williams is good for a 4th starter. |
