- Rebel - 08-27-2003 10:56 AM ....or should I say the "Liberal Side of America". Tony Blankley hits the nail on the head. Quote:How long should we wait before deciding if the Iraq project is a success? And, what is success? Earlier this week, senior Bush officials called for patience on the matter, although they surely know that patience is not America's strong suit. In fact, we are the least patient people in the world. Long, steady, incremental gains is not what we are brought up to admire. Our heroes are soldiers and ball players, not diplomats and gardeners. We like maximum, full bore, explosive action -- followed by glorious victory and exhaustion. (Some nasty Frenchmen even suggest that our lovemaking adheres to that pace.) Every American boy dreams of hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth or a touchdown pass with 10 seconds to go. Few of our sons dream of adjudicating conflict resolutions over several years. When our immigrant ancestors on the East Coast failed to get rich quickly enough, they saddled up, headed West, killed the Indians and grabbed the best land to raise their cattle, their families and their stations in life. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/tonybla...b20030827.shtml Hmmmm, would they be up in arms if Clinton was in office? I VERY seriously doubt it. This has nothing to do with soldiers, etc., it has EVERYTHING to do with power. - Schadenfreude - 08-27-2003 06:33 PM Quote:Hmmmm, would they be up in arms if Clinton was in office? "They" were. http://www.coffeeshoptimes.com/zack3.html The shame is I can't seem to turn up footage of that "Town Hall" meeting at Ohio State University. People absolutely savaged Albright. It was brutal, despite all the planning that went into trying to manage the event. That was the end of it. Clinton seemed to stop talking up a war with Iraq after that. One, two, three, four -- we don't want your ******* war. - Rebel - 08-27-2003 09:02 PM Schadenfreude Wrote:One, two, three, four -- we don't want your ******* war."We", I.e. "You". I happen to like safety and security and DAMN sure like the fact that we have a President with enough balls to take the war to THEM. .....and all your Democratic candidates approved of Clinton wanting to go into Iraq in '98. Like I said. It's about power. Power they lost and power they think is "Righteously Theirs". .....not in MY damn lifetime. You guys are the surest way to the destruction of this country. - Schadenfreude - 08-28-2003 06:40 AM Quote:.....and all your Democratic candidates approved of Clinton wanting to go into Iraq in '98. Don't enlist. Last time I checked, the draft wasn't in force and we have an all-volunteer military. - T-Monay820 - 08-28-2003 06:08 PM Hey I can chant too: One, two, three, four: Get the f*ck out of our country if all you want to do is ***** about how bad it is, because no one is forcing you to be here so take your BS rhetoric of "We should worry about what the world thinks" and foreign policy before you cost us the safety of about 350 Million people. Maybe he did. But I doubt it. Who would ever have bothered to ask the governor of Vermont about war with Iraq? |
