Quote: New York Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer is angry at the way he's been treated by the team, and said he will not be back next season.
Following Game 7 of the ALCS, Zimmer lashed out at owner George Steinbrenner. Zimmer said Steinbrenner doesn't have to worry about firing him.
``He don't have to worry about that cause I won't be back,'' Zimmer told the New York Daily News. ``I'm a human being and I ain't been treated like one in 11 months!''

Wow. It won't be the same without him, that's for sure.

I think Mel Stottlemyre will be fired by Da Boss, signifying the end of the Torre era. Joe, Mel and Zim all have a good ol' time up there together and it's too late in Torre's career to break in a whole new staff.

I agree.

what a great time to stir up trouble, just when the yankees are out hunting for distractions

Well the Yankees don't need distractions...they have Steinbrenner. :drink:
In reference to Don Zimmer, I feel that this is his last year, regardless of the scuffle in Boston last weekend. He has been wanting to retire for the past 3-4 years, only to be talked out of it by Joe Torre. They have been a tremendously successful team. :)
