Yeah... but more into old school than new stuff... tooo much crap out there in the rap game now sad to say.

What is your feeling on TI and/or Paul Wall? next time BMG runs a MAJOR sale I might pick up some cds.

TI is my favorite. His lyrics are always good and I love the beats on his songs. It seems like he churns out about 5 hit songs on every CD.

A lot of my friends really like Paul Wall but I think he is awful. I don't like any of his songs. I guess I just think his voice sounds bad.

Observations:
Twin Cinema is a let down compared to seeing them live last week.
John Lee Hooker is amazing. Sometimes I forget how much I like the blues.
The Ponys record is pretty good. I'm still pretty new to them and suprised by some of the influences I'm hearing in there. What's your take and to which Ponys record should I be listening?

Very impressed with the Smoosh. I like both their albums. Still amazed at how young they are. I only have one Pony's album, and it's Laced With Romance. The very first song "Let's Kill Ourselves" is great. What an opener. Heard the new album isn't as good. They're in town on Wen, but I think I'm gonna go see Ra Ra Riot instead. How's the Pollard? GBV friggin rock. Haven't seen The New Porn, but I was disappointed with that album.

I like the Robert Pollard disc, but at 26 songs, I've yet to get through it all. So far, I'm not sure that it's as strong as his other solo release from last year, Normal Happiness. I'll get a little deeper on it during my commute this week.

Even though I've enjoyed the record and listened a few times already, I'm slightly dissapointed with Twin Cinema, but my reasons really aren't fair. It turns out the songs I knew from the disc were the best songs. However, after seeing them in concert last week (they were great btw), I think I expected every song to as good as the title track.

I think the Ponys record loses a little steam as it goes on, but I still like it. I was suprised to hear influences like the Ramones and 80s pop.

I need to check out a Smoosh record. The only thing I have by them is the Morning Becomes Eclectic set they did, which is good. It is suprising how good they are for their age.
