I get tried of people saying I bash the team because I don't support Boone. Boone is a bad D1 coach always has been. He has had only one winning season in 8 years as a D1 coach past time cut our losses and get rid of him.

On the other hand we do have a great coach in Suzy Merchant. I remeber the time I realized we had a winner. It was against Toledo, now Toledo was ripping up teams her first year here. They were winning by 30 to 35 points just running teams into the ground. What did Suzy do? She slowed down the game, she knew she had no chance at running with them. So she had her team not even bring the ball over half counrt until 20 seconds had gone off the clock. It was not pretty but effective. They kedt it close most of the game and only lost by 10 or 12 points. One of the closest games Toledo played that year. The Egals of EMU play against UofM this season. With the team we have it will be a good one. Hope to see a lot of EMU fans there. 04-rock

03-puke Superfan, good points, but it only matters now with Suzy and her team after accomplishing many firsts last year. I think that Boone's time is up and I will only be happy to see him go with the door hitting his @$$ on the way out. Personally, it will be a good day for EMU men's basketball to see a new coach with a winning attitude and a much better recruiting class of players with morals and respect for everyone. Go Suzy's Angels! I know that the women's team will pull more surprises for next season along with raising the first ever banner at the Convo in the Fall.

Did anyone mention that Suzy adds much more to the atmosphere and scenery of the arena? 03-wink

No. And no one should. She is a very good coach.

:tasha: Superfan, I am wondering if you have heard any latest news upon the new frosh that Suzy Merchant has recruited? I am curious. Please let me know. Thanks! :bluethumb:

No more than you. She has not been around for about a month and I made a BIG BOO BOO when I saw Erica Ford, I asked her how volleyball was doing and she reminded me she played basketball. Sometimes I forget these things.

 Superfan, I cannot believe your last post. You asked Erika Ford about how EMU v-ball was doing? Oops! :( I am glad you didn't approach Emily Busch and asked her how EMU women's bball was doing. That would have been a mistake in sorts. Hoping you won't forget where all the ladies are! 03-banghead

 Else, the only news I've heard is that Sarah Clark, a former EMU bball player last year will be playing in her home state of Kansas after transferring out. I am not sure about Lindsay DeGroot. Hopefully, we'll see how the Kilgore sisters will fare along with Sarah Van Metre.

I have it on good athourity that Harris will not be playing for EMU this fall.

05-nono Superfan, who else won't be playing for Boone next season?
Just curious there......

- emussuperfan - 07-23-2004 04:20 PM

I have not heard of anyone else. Just don't believe what those "He can flat out play" people say. It still will be a long season.

But on the otherhand people are REALLY hyped over the womens I know a lot of people that will be going to their games.

- onyxdragon - 07-23-2004 09:55 PM

:ownd: No matter what the others say, it will be great to see more Eagles fans for the women's bball games. They deserve all the credit and recognition from their successful season last year.

It would be a shame for those to waste efforts into NOT supporting Suzy Merchant and her hard-working team. Those who attend the E-gals bball games won't be disappointed and the ladies deserve all the audiences who were sorely upset with yet another losing season for the men's team under Boone. :chair:
