US Senator raises concerns about “insane” Trump military plans - Gitanole - 10-30-2026 07:56 AM
A group of senators was briefed on what the next phase of the Trump administration’s war on Iran will look like.

Democratic Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, offered those remarks at a Middle East Institute panel on Wednesday.
“I will just say this: Their plan is insane.... It will lead to devastating escalation and the likely destruction of our commitment to the rule of law,” Murphy said. “There’s been open reporting as to what we may be planning, and the civilian infrastructure that we may be targeting....
“They have been asked by the president to develop a plan. Whether they believe it will work or not, I do not know. But the plan that they have developed will lead, in my view, to a prolongment and an escalation of this war that will be devastating for our security interests.”
President Trump (80) is expected to ramp up operations against Iran after the midterm elections, with anonymous sources saying the U.S. has already begun warning its allies about a renewed military campaign. Last week, Israeli sources told ABC News that they discussed intensifying the blockade on Iranian oil exports and bombing petrochemical sites with the United States. Murphy’s comment seems to be confirmation that there is an escalation in the works.
That would likely result in more Iranian civilians dying, more of their infrastructure being destroyed, more U.S. soldiers dying and being wounded, and continued high fuel prices. It would also further expose Trump’s false promises about the conflict, which appears to be developing into our next forever war. And the primary goal of destroying Iran’s nuclear capability does not seem to have actually been achieved.

It wouldn't surprise me either way. We voted for him and thus far have gotten mixed results. Filet mignon on some days (Supreme Court) and a sh!t sandwich on others (Iran War and continued support of Ukraine).

Chris Murphy is one of the worst Dems, IMO. Everything he says is full of hyperbole, and frequently wrong.
I also don't agree that the Iran War (which I think is a misnomer, it was more like a lengthy raid to this point) is a failure. That chapter has yet to be written.
What, peeps would prefer that we did nothing, and let those crazy MFers keep doing what they were doing? Nobody else on earth has the power to stop those clowns. We'll see...he has been holding off lately due to the mid-terms.

Nope, I don't think that they believe that. Actually, I think that they're happy Trump did what he did, it's only that now they can complain about it for political gain. There are many very stupid people that actually believe we should have let Iran have a nuke. These people are heavy on the Demonicratic side of things, i.e., no common sense and very ignorant, they actually think Iran can be trusted. Many Demonicratic politicians just wish their side had the cajones to do what Trump did but now all they can do is biatch.
