He was a terrific actor I remember for lesser roles in some of my favorite movies.

Dune (1984)

He was also King Richard in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Great role for him, to be honest.

What's sad is he'll never truly become Gandalf and tell Harry Potter to use the Force to topple the bad guys on Babylon 5. Rest in Peace, sir.

I guess the new Avengers move will be a little hard to watch now.

RIP. Good actor, never cared much for his characters, though.

Unless you're a Star Trek fan or an X-Men fan, you never really knew him in anything else.

Excalibur (supporting role), Robin Hood: Men in Tights (cameo at the end), Conspiracy Theories (main villain... I think?), American Dad (sometimes co-star, but mainly a guest star; voice acting role.)... That's what I can remember, really.

I forgot about American Dad. I haven't watched it in a while

I guess they'll kill his character off.

Excalibur, one of my all time favorite movies.

That alone encompasses a tremendous amount of people.

He was a tried and true Shakespearian actor who brought that niche talent to the big screen.

First time I saw him was as a kid who snuck into an Excalibur showing in a theater at 10 years old.

First thing I saw him outside of being Captain Picard was in Masterminds:

RIP.

With Walter Koenig passing last week, William Shatner and George Takei are the only ones left from TOS.

I think Stewart is the first one to pass from TNG.

I feel like he played Gurney Halleck in Dune (1984). I really liked him in that and in X Men, but I never watched an entire episode of The Next Generation.

Seemed like a quality actor and a quality dude.

Making you about 55 or so. If I did my mathing correctly.

Which means I'm not that far from being half again your age. Yikes.

He was hilarious in a cameo role in Frasier. He played a world-renowned gay theatre director who flirted with Frasier because he assumed he was also gay. Frasier put up the charade because he got to schmooze at parties with famous people and the director asked him to go on a trip to Corsica with him.

Wow, I had never seen him do that, he really kicked it out into space. That was really good, Shakespearian-like.

RE: Patrick Stewart Passes - Todor - 10-30-2026 10:46 AM

Ghost was a good movie.

Shatner has a metal album out currently and has been doing shows to support it.....at 95.
