Congress May Act to Regulate NCAA Sports - wewererebels - 09-30-2026 11:14 AM

The US Senate passed the "Protect College Sports Act," but the House is in recess until November 8th. If NIL, years of allowed eligibility, number of transfers allowed, and agency issues are not brought under control, NCAA sports as we have known them will descend even farther into chaos. College football will continue to be overpriced minor league professional ball. For the smaller programs it will be tough.

It still has to pass the House, and we don't know exactly what form would pass if they make any changes. It certainly has a lot of posters in the Active Boards talking. I think because the primary impacts will be withe the P4 FBS and higher profile G6. We all know that it will affect everyone though. I don't like everything in it, but something needs done and the schools/networks/NCAA won't fix it. The PCSA is what it has come down to. Whatever it does, I miss college sports.

Something needs to be done.
From what I have read the HBCs do not support the bill so it likely will not get the support of the democrats. Another issue is if Johnson brings congress back to vote on this, congress would also have to vote on the Hegseth impeachment. So nothing will happen until after the elections.
