Picks

ETSU because UWG is horrible this year.
ACU that is not a typo I am actually picking the wildcats...so do not let me down Neither team has won a game this year
Tarleton This should be a very easy win or we are in big trouble
Austin Peay I would not be surprised if it went the other way, but I think the Gov's will prevail
UCA their win over UCO somewhat restored my confidence in them
UNA they look much inproved over last year and should be able to handle a SWAC squad
EKU You have to beat a Pioneer team or else....

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - Outsider - 09-15-2026 10:28 AM

I am really looking forward to the AP UWF game. I think this will be the first REAL test for UWF. Hopefully we can beat an 0-3 team, even if it is inside their dome. I would hope that we at least have Broome back if not Broome and Banks. I agree that EKU can take Dayton. SEMO will be a tough match for UCA, as will Alcorn for UNA.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - Itinerant Texan - 09-15-2026 11:17 AM

Have to admit I'm super jealous ACU gets to play in the Kibbie Dome! Lamar struggled to put away the Vandals last week, so it will be interesting to see how the Wildcats do this week.

If we don't beat Dayton....lower the boom on this staff!
If we struggle... well time will tell, but it surely doesn't bode well for the rest of the season!01-lauramac201-lauramac2

Last season (2025) did a number on attendance, last week was dismal (Kentucky played Bama, 20 miles away...and they thought they "might" win and this hurt our attendance ). We have to WIN, and sorry to say, people just won't come to games when we have a bad year. Fickle Fans!

Hope we can hang with AP on Saturday. i think we either win by 1 or get beat by 28 and I don't know which one is going to happen. Doesn't feel like there is anyway this dream transition for us can continue.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - Spolovilo4EVER - 09-16-2026 01:02 AM

West Florida has been impressive so far no doubt. I think they will easily beat UWG and probably convincingly over EKU and UNA as well. Austin P Tarleton and ACU ( If they can find thier offense) will be a tough uphill battle for the Argonauts. I doubt you will lose by 28 to Austin Peay, I am expecting a very close game either eay. Good luck!

My son texted me right as school started, so I don't have the answers, but there's a real chance he will be going on a recruit visit to Stephenville for this weekend's game. He's a junior so we are still early in this process and I have no idea what to expect. Any Tarleton folks have answers on what to expect?

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - TexanFan - 09-17-2026 01:02 PM

Its Parents Weekend so crowds will be everywhere.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - Spolovilo4EVER - 09-17-2026 03:37 PM

If your coming from the Metroplex I would not take the Granbury route, it has a bigilionty stop lights and takes forever to get through there. Fastest way is I-20 and cut down.

What sport? Tarleton Football facilities and weight room and overall training facilities are among the best for a mid major. Still need to finish the old home side now visitor side of the stadium.

If you haven't been to Tarleton in years it has been reconstructed and is a very beautiful campus.

If you could wait a little longer the Pecan trees everywhere on campus will be producing and since they are well maintained the pecans are excellent. Haha an added bonus.

I would take the Granbury route so I could stop at Braums

Oh yeah almost forgot eat at Babes Chicken in Granbury or Hard Eight in Stephenville.
The free beans at Hard Eight are absolutely the best beans I've ever eaten and growing up East Texas where a pot of beans and home made cornbread were a staple that's saying a lot for Hard Eight.

Football. But it is a good question. Kid is pushing 6'7" as a junior and will have a basketball visit to East Texas A&M in November.

I'd imagine they'll be touring the facilities.

Personally, I've seen the stadium in December 2022 when checking out Wisdom Gym. Kids were with their mom though, so he didn't see it.

There's been some work in player development I'm sure, but cosmetically it is pretty similar. I obviously saw an empty stadium and want the game day feel that I've only seen online. I mean, I want the kid to visit and this is totally for him.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - TexanFan - 09-17-2026 10:36 PM

Dr. Hurley has posted there will be another record crowd, so the game day environment should be great.

If the game goes like I think it will, lots of people will be gone by halftime.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - Spolovilo4EVER - 09-18-2026 01:01 AM

As an added bonus by taking 281 off I-120 ( as if avoiding going through Granbury is not bonus enough) you get to see giant rocking chair!

APSU @ UWF is definately the game of the week. If ACU and Idaho were not a combined 0-6 I would put that as the game of the week.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 3 - DodgeHouse - 09-18-2026 08:53 AM

Merrimack will score right before half, just like every team does on us. I bet it’s not over. The heat will catch up to them and Tarleton puts them away late 3rd. Very rare when Whitten puts anyone away by half.

UNA got a photo and mention on College GameDay.
