RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - Spolovilo4EVER - 08-31-2026 12:55 AM

UWG@Kennesaw St -Kennesaw St in this one 42-13 UWG is most likely the last place team in the UAC this year and just not going to be very good. If this was last years team, they would have a punchers chance, but they look terrible this year.

Tarleton@Bowling Green -Tarleton 45-42 If you want to be considered one of the big boys of FCS you have to beat bottom tier G-6 teams. BG is not that good and we have the advantage of having a game under our belt so that helps. It could go either way, but if our D actually shows up we win this one.

UNA@ARKY -ARKY 38-10 UNA looks improved over last year but they are no where near the level to take down an SEC team with out a miracle.

ACU@TTU -TTU 70-7 This one will get ugly fast. ACU can barely score against Lamar, how are they going to do that against a ranked FBS team? TTU will want to make a statement and light up the scoreboard in this one and ACU will not be able to stop them.

AUSTIN PEAY@VANDY -Vandy 45-20 P will make it totally respectable, but will not be able to keep up in the 2nd half.

UWF@UCA -UCA 38-35 Coin flip really but I will giive the home team the nod only because they beat a ranked oppoment themselves, and on the road! This game and Tarleton game will be the most intriguing games of the week.

EKU@J'VILLE ST - J'VILLE 24-13 Yes the chickens got thier ARSE whipped by a team playing thier first game in FBS but EKU did not look very good either in their opener so....

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - Outsider - 08-31-2026 10:24 AM

Tech 56-0 by the half.
Kennesaw easily wins, UWG will improve but struggle this year.
Arkansas is another easy win, UNA played very well last week but is out powered.
Vanderbilt, rinse and repeat to another easy FBS win.
UCA v UWF will be the game of the week for the UAC. Both teams really really surprised me last week. DO they both play the same this week? If so, then yes, it's a coin flip.
JSU rebounds this week against EKU.
To me, Tarleton and Bowling Green is a toss up. Tarleton has what it takes to win, but they will need to step up their defense a little.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - TexanFan - 08-31-2026 11:01 AM

I will be in beautiful and lovely Bowling Green, Ohio for the Tarleton game and I will be expecting a Texan victory.

That Tech game could get UGH LEE in a hurry.

Hopefully ACU can survive the storm early and be competitive

Tech Defense I suspect will be just as smothering as last year. Added a lot of talent on that side of the ball.

If ACU can move the ball on them their season just got brighter.

Is former FSU QB gonna be allowed to join Tech? Like they really need him

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - BlueDragon - 08-31-2026 11:14 AM

Step up Defense a little is pushing it as politely and politically correct as possible.

Tarleton Defense needs step up A LOT LIKE MAJOR LEAGUE LEVEL OF STEPPING UP

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - Outsider - 09-04-2026 11:20 AM

UWG didn't have a good game against Kennesaw last night. Not only did Kennesaw outplay them, UWG just played bad the whole game. Out side the UAC, Southern Illinois redeemed themselves some by beating Samford by 4 points in a fairly low score game.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - BlueDragon - 09-04-2026 11:57 PM

Texas Tech is a 42.5 point favorite over ACU

Bowling Green is a 2 point favorite over Tarleton

Vanderbilt is a 29.5 point favorite over AP

Arkansas is a 40.5 point favorite over UNA

Jacksonville State is a 20.5 favorite over EKU

Central Ark a touchdown favorite over UWF

Either lack of respect or this is going to be a rough weekend for the UAC

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - Spolovilo4EVER - 09-05-2026 01:18 AM

Its not a lack of respect, just realistic predictions. . Rarely do point spreads go over 40 and if you see a 40 or above spread it is virtualy assured that the favorite will win. 30 point spread would be a monumental upset, 20 point would still be considered a big upset but not a slam dunk for the favorite. What is says is ACU and UNA have no chance in hell of winning. Tarleton is the only team in an OOC game that has a really good chance to pull off a win this week. The only reason BG is favored is because they are FBS. I can not recall an FCS team ever being favored over an FBS squad.

Yep, the question is who can even cover the spread.

No, BG is favored because they're at home. Home team always gets a 3 point benefit of the doubt.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - BlueDragon - 09-05-2026 12:01 PM

Tarleton up early 10-0

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - BlueDragon - 09-05-2026 02:54 PM

Tarleton holds on 20-13.

Bowling Green played better as the game went on. I thought Tarleton had better talent in the skill positions.

Defensively Tarleton either was much improved or PV was much faster and the D wasn’t able to stay in position and get clean hits like today.

Offensive line was exposed to some degree today. Big Uglies seemed to have trouble sustaining blocks at times.

The fumble on the goal line was inexcusable. Up 20-13 inside the 10 and a short FG ends the game you don’t try to score with 8 men in the box. Chances of strip go up astronomically and that is exactly what happened.

Hard to believe the D bailed out Tarleton after watching them last week

Great job :-D

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - unalions - 09-05-2026 05:05 PM

Arkansas 14, UNA 0 at halftime.

Lions defense playing well. The offense isn’t.

I wondered why Tarleton didn't kick the FG and seal the game. I was in Coleman and just watching the score on my phone. It went from 3rd and goal on the 8 (I think) to BGs ball and I was like what happened? Then BG almost tied the game. It looked like Tarleton controlled the game but that was poor decision making right there. Glad the D held firm in the final seconds.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - unalions - 09-05-2026 05:59 PM

Headed to the 4th:

Hogs 21, Lions 7

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - BlueDragon - 09-05-2026 06:02 PM

Tarleton D stopped BG with about 2 minutes to play inside the 10 yd line.

Tarleton first play on Offense Hines breaks free and almost scores but is tackled after an 80 + yards run or thereabouts. Now you’d think Tarleton would just position the ball for FG. After two runs where it’s obvious Tarleton is trying to score Hines on third down is stripped of the ball giving BG yet another chance.

If BG goes on like Army to win 5 or 6 games then Tarleton is FBS ready at the lower tier. Tarleton had more talent on the field than BG and that was the difference in the game.

Tarleton announcers are well meh

I actually listened to the Game volume off using Varsity BG announcers. They had the same opinion as myself which made me laugh especially if they are tied to the school. But very realist announcers not so much the homers.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - unalions - 09-05-2026 06:19 PM

In the 4th:

Arkansas 28, UNA 14

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - Outsider - 09-05-2026 06:31 PM

TT v ACU going about as expected 14-0 w/ a couple left in the 1st. ACU struggling to tackle and trying to keep receivers in front of them. The speed and strength of Tech is WAY ahead of two years ago.

RE: UAC FOOTBALL: WEEK 1 - unalions - 09-05-2026 06:43 PM

Final: Hogs 31, UNA 14

Proud of UNA today. Last year, this would have been 60+ to zip.
