When's the last time an NFL team made a drastic logo and color scheme change? - C2__ - 12-05-2025 01:00 AM

The Titans maybe? That doesn't even count as they had to come up with something new to change from the Oilers plus they retained the Columbia blue, red and added dark blue.

I believe my answer is the Buccaneers but maybe I'm wrong.

There’s been color changes and logo changes but drastic has to be Tampa Bay Buccaneers going from creamsicle orange to black, red, and silver in the 90s has to be it.

The winner has to be when The Washington Redskins rebranding first to the Wahington Football Team and dumping the classic Indian Head logo with an R in in it and changing to that awful "W" that they now use. Then of course changing the name again to the Washington Commanders, but keeping the same colors and that same awful "W" for their logo. I actualy like the new Commanders name, just not the "W" on the helmet.

Before that there seem to be a number of rebrands in the 90's. The Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens with the purple uniforms, only for the expansion Cleveland Browns to bring back the old Browns uniform. The Rams moved to St Louis and switch from a yellow and blue combo to more of a gold and Blue combo. As already mentioned, the Oilers moved to Tennesee and became the Titans. Also mentioned the Tampa Bay color change.

Another big change in Elway's later years was the Broncos changing from the classic horse inside the D to a more stylish horse, and changung the classic orange crush uniforms to darker colors that looked red and blue instead of orange.
