Dems Sued USDA For Asking How Many Illegals Are On SNAP - CrimsonPhantom - 10-31-2025 03:38 PM
Quote:House Speaker Mike Johnson erupted in frustration Thursday after learning that Democrat-led states filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for attempting to determine how many illegal aliens are receiving taxpayer-funded welfare benefits under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
At a press conference alongside USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, Johnson blasted Senate Democrats for prioritizing “political theater” over feeding American families as the government shutdown stretched into its 31st day.
“They sued the USDA for asking them, simply asking them to tell them how many illegal aliens are on the programs in California, New York, and these other states,” Johnson fumed.
“They sued them. You need to take account of what people are doing here in each party, the leaders and the President of the United States.”
Johnson accused Democrats of voting 14 times to block a clean continuing resolution that would reopen the government and restore funding to SNAP, which expired earlier this week.
He said Democrats have “manufactured a crisis” in order to weaponize the shutdown for political gain while millions of Americans struggle to afford groceries.
“We are trying to get government to work more efficiently and effectively for the people, and we are getting stopped and hindered by political games by Democrats. That’s why we’re so frustrated.”

BREAKING: Speaker Johnson FUMES after learning Democrats SUED the US Department of Agriculture for trying to figure out how many illegal aliens receive welfare
"They SUED the USDA for simply asking them how many illegal aliens are on the program in California, New York and these other states!"
"They SUED THEM! You need to take account of what people are doing here!"
"We are trying to get government to work more efficiently and effectively for the people - and we are getting STOPPED and HINDERED by political games, by Democrats!"
"That's why we are so FRUSTRATED."
The lawsuit, spearheaded by Maine’s Democrat governor and joined by 24 other blue states, accuses the USDA of unlawfully suspending SNAP benefits during the shutdown.
In the lawsuit are the attorneys general of Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin. The governors of Kansas, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania are also part of the lawsuit, according to WMTV.
The coalition argues that the USDA has access to billions in contingency funds and should use them to continue the program without congressional approval.
However, USDA officials say that the law requires congressional authorization to tap those funds and that Democrats’ refusal to pass a clean funding bill is to blame for the lapse.
“Senate Democrats have now voted 13 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01,” a notice reads on the USDA website.
“We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats. They can continue to hold out for healthcare for illegal aliens and gender mutilation procedures or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive critical nutrition assistance.”
On Friday, U.S. District Judge John McConnell, an Obama appointee, ordered the administration to use emergency funds to temporarily restore SNAP payments, effectively overriding USDA discretion.

Elon Musk goes on Joe Rogan and tears the mask off, exposing exactly why Democrats are prolonging the government shutdown and fighting to keep the money flowing to criminal aliens:
“The Democratic Party wants to destroy democracy by importing voters.”
“The reason you have this standoff is because if the hundreds of billions of dollars to create a financial incentive to like to have this giant magnet to attract illegals from every part of Earth to these states, if that is turned off, the illegals will leave because they're no longer being paid to come to the United States and stay here.”
“They will lose a lot of voters. The Democratic Party will lose a lot of voters.

Not true. They only care about power, they don’t care who they have to use to get it.

21 Dem-led states refuse to reveal how many illegal immigrants are on SNAP: USDA Sec
Quote:US Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said this week that 29 states complied with an earlier federal request to share Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) data to ensure illegal immigrants are not receiving benefits, while 21 Democrat-run states refused to do so.
Rollins discussed the matter during an appearance on Fox & Friends on Sunday. She said the USDA sent letters to all 50 governors in February, reminding them that federal law prohibits illegal immigrants from receiving SNAP benefits and asking states to provide data for a federal review.
“We increased almost 40 percent on this program in just a couple of years under the Biden administration,” Rollins said, referring to SNAP enrollment.
Rollins said that 29 states complied with the data request, which resulted in the department uncovering “thousands” of instances of illegal SNAP use, including fraudulent EBT card activity. She added that nearly 700,000 individuals have been removed from the program since Trump took office, and about 118 arrests have been made in connection with fraud investigations.
“What this country has allowed is a national spotlight on a broken and corrupt program,” Rollins said. She added that investigators have also found more than 5,000 cases of individuals still receiving benefits after death.
“It is time to drastically reform this program so that we can make sure that those who are truly needy, truly vulnerable, are getting what they need,” she added.
In a post on X, Rollins reiterated her comments, further explaining that 21 blue states had refused to cooperate, two of which sued the USDA for requesting this data
SNAP has been in the national spotlight amid the ongoing government shutdown, as reports suggested the program would face a temporary halt in benefits. A federal judge has since ruled that SNAP payments must continue for the 42 million Americans who rely on them, while the Trump administration has asked the court to clarify how those benefits can legally be funded during the shutdown.
