Prepare for major jumps in electricity in the near future - miko33 - 07-30-2025 12:59 PM

I don't have a story I'm linking. This is from my thoughts alone as we digest news about growing resources going to AI, continued market penetration of EVs, an electric grid that hasn't been truly improved in decades, CO2 targets that are percolating throughout the world...many of you are seeing them at your companies I'm sure of it and difficulties in getting true increases in power gen. So far it looks more like we're swapping coal for other fuel sources and not actually increasing supply.

Been talk from many places about creating new power gen facilities. Not seeing a whole lot of tangible action on this yet. You know what's going to happen when we start seeing new generating facilities and larger grids...surcharges. You know how those messages will look...

"We're committed to providing the most reliable power at the most competitive rates. We're in an exciting environment where technology demands for power have never been greater. We are excited to provide more power to fuel future innovation and growth. However, we need your help..."

It's called the LAW of supply and demand for a reason.

Zero chance Trump will let silly environmental global warming targets (most of which are driven by a Paris Agreement we are no longer even tied to) drive up US energy costs. Lower energy costs in the US would represent a significant manufacturing advantage---which is one of the key reasons Trump will not cavalierly allow US energy prices to rise due to environmental targets that are likely to have little to no real effect on future warming.
