Not WAC, but SFA has parted ways with HC Kyle Keller, effective immediately.

So much for SFA going to the Southland to compete for titles.

So far the only title they’ve competed for is ALSO RAN

8-11 still looks pretty good from where UTA fans are sitting.

That's OK wewererebels. You guys will be here Saturday and it will be fun to relive the old days but in our very fine Moody Coliseum. Come on over and sit in comfort. Records don't mean much in our long history. It will be anybody's ball game. It always was.

It's funny to have such a comfortable rivalry, but such has always been the case with our two schools. For the first several years of the SLC, we only had five conference members, ACC, ASC, Lamar Tech, Trinity and Arkansas State. It's too bad the Southland gets such disrespect on this WAC site, as it has been a very reliable incubator for many good college programs.

Yes, we have a long history.

ACU defeats Tarleton 67-56.

A very ugly game by the Texans.

Lost to injuries in the first half for the Texans was Hicks and Miles.

Congrats to the Wildcats.

RE: 2024-25 WAC MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK #12 - Outsider - 01-23-2025 10:15 PM

A very sloppy game on both sides. Doubt ACU wins if Hicks was healthy, but at least that monkey is off our back after losing to the Texans 3 times last year. Congrats to UTA as well. Finally, no more zero-win teams in the WAC.

RE: 2024-25 WAC MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK #12 - RCI - 01-23-2025 11:15 PM

Both sides (Tarleton and ACU) have quick and talented athletes. The game tonight is nothing like the game we played years ago. Watching how much emphasis is placed on defense is really amazing. Tarleton hit a dry spell before the end of the first half and that sort of sealed the game. It was a very physical contest. Our Wildcats played a very strong defense and fouled a lot. Tarleton hit their free throws really well. I had hoped there would be more Texan fans in attendance -- I only counted eight in the visitor's section. We had our UAC winning football team in attendance and in the floor level stands under the north basket. They were honored at half-time.

UTA wins in OT 79-76. Josh says this is only our fifth win in 16 tries at Moody.

A fun and entertaining game to watch.

Congrats UTA. I was out of town seeing my new grandniece. I looked and saw the score and wasn't surprised. We still have trouble finishing games.

RE: 2024-25 WAC MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK #12 - Spolovilo4EVER - 01-26-2025 06:48 AM

First off congrats to ACU on the win. I hope Hicks gets a med red shirt and can return next year. Hopefully we can field a better squad next year. This years team is highly disappointing. I think Grimes and Silvera should be starting over Miles and Mizell but with all the other injuries we were doomed from the start. If they would start those 2 with Hicks Mpaca and the guy from france we could have been a threat.

Made my first trip to ACU's Moody Coliseum (I have been to SMU's). The reno was well done. The building is an older design, obviously, but the concourse was very bright and pleasant to be in. The exterior was also pleasing to see as I walked in. The seats were comfotable.

That student section though. It definitely seems shoe-horned in there, thanks to the elevated seating. I also wasn't a fan that the teams trek to the locker room takes them through the concourse.

Another bonus came in the intangible category, some very nice coeds.

RE: 2024-25 WAC MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK #12 - RCI - 01-30-2025 09:55 PM

Glad you liked Moody Coliseum. It is very comfortable and there are really no bad seats. The students shoe-horned on the floor is something new this year and done to get students closer to the action. It is quite nice. I am anxious about our new baseball stadium which ACU has stated they want it to be top tier in the WAC. We will soon be able to buy our reserved seats for the season. As an old baseballer, I like baseball about as much as any sport, maybe more.

RE: 2024-25 WAC MEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK #12 - FoUTASportscaster - 01-30-2025 11:44 PM

I have no doubts the baseball team will be top tier. Partly because AVU has done a good job with the football stadium and Moody renovations and because the WAC has some rough fields.

UTA wins 73-71 over UT. This is three two-point wins in a row against lower third WAC opponents.

Just amazing, and well done UTA!
