These are the type of painful but necessary steps that have to be taken to fix this country. To be clear, according to Trump the 25% tariffs will not be implemented, or if implemented will be removed, once Mexico and Canada stop the flow of illegal immigrants and fentanyl into the U.S.
In other words, @realDonaldTrump is going to use tariffs as a weapon to achieve economic and political outcomes which are in the best interest of America, fulfilling his America first policy.
This is a great way for Trump to effect foreign policy changes even before he takes office.

The problem is the companies in the US will raise all the prices on us, and neither countries will do anything. We are gonna suffer paying higher prices for food, cloths, housing, cars, etc.

Tariffs are a tax resulting in higher prices, all other factors equal.
Enhancing national security is an acceptable reason for a tax and I hope a resurgent of American productivity (through DOGE and other means) will largely mitigate cost increases.
Our friends to the north and south merely have to do the right thing to avoid economic pain they will experience disproportionately compared to the US.
