We are 20 trillion dollars in debt. You guys are the equivalent of people playing a fiesty song on the Titanic. When people start getting kicked off of SS and Medi Care all of the Trump voters that were conned are going to remember this day.

2/3rds of Americans don't even have a 401k

George W. Bush wanted to fix social security, but the Democrats claimed there wasn't a problem and demagogued it to death.. Obama claimed there wasn't a problem.

The only ones willing to let people get kicked off are the Democrats. They are willing to let it even run out of IOUs from the Treasury.

Think projections for the next 10 years are like 10 trillion more or something along the lines of continuing as we have been going. The 1 trillion number with the tax cuts is in addition to the already projected numbers.

So is Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) the last deficit hawk left in congress?

Lol dude votes no on everything

I don't agree with him on a lot of things but I respect him.

I think the massive debt is a massive problem. There, I said it. It needs, it must, be addressed.

But this country doesn't have a revenue problem, it has a government spending problem. Address the government spending and the deficit will go down.

I seriously doubt any sane person would argue that one.....

since I'm not the sanest human on the planet, I mostly agree with that in totality with the exception of foreign debt ownership is also tied to the survival of a strong USD....there is value in that as a bargaining chip in certain situations.....

but yeah, cutting spending, which would help reduce the debt, would be monumental in my lifetime.....don't believe that's happened as we mostly breath nitrogen......

and for the 5786th time. Going into debt for Obamacare i Have absolutely ZERO problem with. Which it was going to be deficit neutral if the azzhole Republican leaders wouldn't have pulled a ton of shenanigans. They've tried to undermine it every step of the way. Repealing the mandate is going to ruin it. The r's are going to pay a political price. This is beyond the pale and exactly the opposite of what Trump ran on.

Dems just voted 100% against a pay raise for the American people and for growing the economy. That should work well for them int he mid-terms.

And with the repeal of the individual mandate 7 million people with individual market plans will see their premiums go up significantly. So if you don't get the tax credits, I think Fo is in this group, your immediate tax savings will to some degree be offset this other provision of the law.

Do you believe in fairies as well? Obamacare was going to pay for itself and somehow Republicans ruined it? Talk about gullible. You can say you are fine with a deficit for improving health insurance coverage, but to say it wouldn't cost anything is beyond the pale ludicrous.

I was fine with W.'s prescription drug coverage because I know people were passing on using their drugs and dying or degrading their quality of life. But I admit it cost a lot of money. Some people opposed it because of that.

If you see $100 more in your monthly paycheck as a result of the new tax law that is great. If you see an increase in your health insurance premium of $100 as a result of the new tax law that is bad. ummmm learn about common sense.07-coffee3
