I wouldn't know where to start, so I'll just keep reading. Favorite albums are closely associated with periods of my life. Probably like that for many of you.

No doubt, but you have to throw a few our way.

That's fair.

The Beatles, Stones, Doors, etc. grabbed me as an adolescent. Then I started hearing stuff like John Prine - John Prine. Then Neil. It was likely After the Gold Rush that made me explore everything else he did. Hendrix. Electric Ladyland. Whoa, stop the train. Ziggy Stardust. Dark Side of the Moon. They just kept coming and I'm still in my teens at this point. Transformer. Feats Don't Fail Me Now. Late for the Sky. It just goes on and on. That's how it started.

Jeff Beck Group was fantastic and introduced me to Beck-Ola which introduced me to Rod Stewart. I'm still in high school here. This is an impossible task.

If it has to be only one, then it's Pink Floyd "Pulse".
Naw I can't do it.
Frank Zappa "Joe's Garage"
Jazz--Dave Brubeck "Take Five" or John Coltrane "A Love Supreme"
Classical--Scheherazade/London Symphony Orchestra /Stokowski

All on mint vinyl of course
RCA Shaded Dog, Columbia 6Eye, British, German or Japanese import etc.

All great stuff. I didn't find John Prine until after high school.

A Love Supreme is a powerfully moving piece of music.

Yep.

That's why I had to use "previously" and "currently"

For Sure, along with Revolver, and Let It Be. I have such a long list, that it's impossible. Prine is a word artist, and I got onto him I guess my freshman year at Memphis State. Around then. It was the Souvenirs album. It was great to hear him for just one song at the Dylan concert this summer.

Agree, however my albums are like children who has a favorite?

I have one album signed by John Harford (Areo Plain) and one signed by Rabbit Muse (60 minute man) both are worth a lot of money and I do treasure these two.

I have Albums that I like their artwork more than their music one being - Spooky Tooth - You broke my Heart so I busted your jaw.

Will assume the word Album suggested in this title means, vinyl.

It was the only recording he ever made when he was straight. No booze, no heroine, no drugs. His best work IMHO.

RE: Best/Favorite Album of all time?
Favorite? Impossible to pick one.

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited probably tops my list

Others in contention:
The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet (runner up)
The Beatles - Abbey Road (could pick any number, but "Come Together" is my favorite. Beatles song)
The Clash - London Calling
Depeche Mode - Violator
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
Grateful Dead - American Beauty
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Miles Davis - ******* Brew
The Pixies - Doolittle
R.E.M. - Murmur
Thelonious Monk - The Unique Thelonious Monk
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
U2 - The Joshua Tree

...and one I'd be surprised if many have heard of...

Seu Jorge - The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions (acoustic, relaxing, Portugese versions of Bowie songs)

I'm a big Spooky Tooth fan. Mike Harrison on vocals. You broken my heart so I busted your jaw is a wonderful album. Spooky Two is a great one also. My favorite by them was the Last Puff. Which featured their version, of I Am The Walrus. Man I wore those albums out. I still listen to vinyl. In the high end, vinyl is back in a big way. This will be a fun thread.
