EIU Predictions
I get the feeling some of these are going to be fun bad.
EIU has a good offense. With our defensive struggles in the first half of games this year, I would imagine EIU will be able to move the ball a bit and put up some points. With that being said, I think they're really going to struggle to block NIU's defensive line. EIU gave up 440 yards to San Diego State, 503 to SIU, and 392 to ISU. The offense should be able to do whatever it wants. Unless EIU is going to be able to put up a number that starts with 4, I don't see them realistically having a shot.

RE: EIU Predictions
Home field advantage is huge for the Huskies. Remember Bleacher Report kinged Huskie Stadium hardest in the nation. But seriously, the crowd will be big, loud, and ruthless. I expect the team to come out looking to prove a point after the close slip up in Idaho.

Close until end of 3rd Q. Extra scholarships mean something and our depth pulls it out.

When all signs point to a shootout, sometimes it doesn't happen.

I'm going to say EIU has a lead at half but the huskies come back and win 42-30!

Dont want it to be that close, but Im worried about their QB and our secondary right now... Rain would help us a lot this week, even though i know we want the sellout

I'm not diggin' Robert's & 32's predictions.
I'm looking forward to a beautiful fall afternoon of tailgating followed by a competitive yet non-stressful Huskie victory!
For the love of gawd....we just had to sweat out the freakin' Idaho game. Is that too much to ask?

RE: EIU Predictions
Three things I need to point out, since everyone seems to think EIU is a world beater and the Huskies have met their match.
1. This will be the toughest environment EIU has played in all year. Yes, they traveled all the way to San Diego, but Huskie Stadium will be close to capacity, and much more difficult venue.
2. This will be the best defense EIU has faced to date. The Huskies will give up some points, but EIU hasn't had a challenge yet, or a team that seems to create turnovers, which NIU is pretty solid at.
3. This is by far the best offense EIU will play all year. EIU is giving up 445 yards a game. NIU put up 438 on a very stout Iowa defense.
EIU has given up 8 sacks in three games, that tells me NIU should get at least 3 sacks, and I'm gonna say their QB throws 2 picks.
EIU will rack up some yardage, but the run-pass combo of the Huskies will become too much for them and Garoppola tries to do too much to keep up.

We make the adjustments necessary to our Secondary to keep EIU's passing game in check.

RE: EIU Predictions
My wife has said for months that this is a loss.
I am so nervous about this game. That might be a good thing though because I was not this past Saturday or at all during the week.

Garrapolo (love that name) will have his way for a while, then our pass rush will take over. I see us winning by 17-18 pts.

RE: EIU Predictions
The angst to me is hilarious. If you seriously think NIU is going to struggle THAT much with an FCS team, stop talking about the Top 25, the BCS, etc. Toledo beat one of the best two or three teams in FCS last week by two scores and put up 530 yards while playing a true freshman QB. EIU is a pretty solid FCS team, but unless NIU sleepwalks through the game, there's no reason to believe they will lose.
EIU is giving up 445 yards (!!!) a game.

Thats what I have been thinking the whole time. If we are worried about EIU at home, then maybe we dont belong on the same field as a BCS bowl team.

RE: EIU Predictions
EIU is catching us at a good time for them, and I just do not think you can look at this being an FCS team right now. I really hope I'm wrong but I think EIU just has too much offense right now and a good enough defense to force a few NIU mistakes
