And this applies to the Sun Belt in 2013-2014 how exactly? I'm 108% sure that this would not have changed any minds on the Committee. No one is saying 'Drat, if only we would have known they would win the BSC BB Tourney ....."
Maybe Campbell was tired because the Bible Brigade acosted them all week!you know yelling Creation Science chants! Ha. I kid, but am sure some think its true!

I think Campbell is actually a Christian school as well. http://www.campbell.edu/about/

We need better competition. 10 Conference championships this year....6th straight Big South Sasser Cup. I would much rather be the worst team in whatever FBS conference than keep rolling over the Big South.

Football. Always comes back to football. As someone said Baseball may be considered our national pastime but the importance of baseball is not nearly what it used to be. Everyone seems to be more concerned with football than all the other sports combined.
You may need better competition than the Big South is giving you, any thoughts of trying to change conferences to the SoCon or the CAA? However, All Sports is good, but App State won the Commissioner's Cup in the SoCon this year, and 36 or the past 39 years. Won the women's cup this year also, only school to win both in one season, which it did 9 times. But that didn't seem to help when we were trying to get into an FBS conference. Not outright anyway, was more an after thought. That's why football is the thing to concentrate on, it drives the bus.

And 0 appearances in the playoffs. If LU was as good as they say they are you would think at least ONCE in those 5 seasons they would have gotten an at large. It's like being the oldest one at the kids table during the holidays.

Being the big kid at small table (Big South) doesn't mean you are a big kid.

So perhaps the Olympic Sports move to the SBC without football. It is those programs that need more competition.

The Sun Belt already has it's pair of olympic sports. Given that your basketball won't raise the quality of Belt play, and that there isn't a need for an olympic university to join (if JMU offered football only, our backup there is NMSU), why would the Sun Belt take Liberty's olympics?

That's not even counting the headache that Liberty presents. Totally ignoring that fact, there is no benefit to the Sun Belt adding Liberty.

One more thing. I don't think South Carolina had any issues with LU's religious affiliation. https://twitter.com/libertyflames/status...76/photo/1

Neither does the vast majority of the Sun Belt members.

But you will again choose to ignore this to play the martyr.

Yeah, SC was ready to walk off the field and not play the Flames...what a joke all that talk was of teams walking off the field instead of playing us. If any of you watched the Columbia regional, that's what it would be like to have LU in the conference...no difference at all.

Yet they wouldn't take an up and coming program with limitless potential. The word out now is that the Louisiana schools didn't want us because our budget was too big. Does the SBC want to improve nationally or not?

It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with the quack pots that Liberty allows to speak for it's group.

EDIT: Limitless? Your talent pool is restricted by your code of conduct and heavy religious focus. Your potential is NOT limitless by any means.

Would your talent pool expand if you were in FBS? I think it's safe to say you bet. But would you miss out on a HUGE portion of student athletes and coaches. That MOST DEFINITELY limits your potential.

It appears that UVA QB Phillip Simms and RB Clifton Richardson both may be leaning towards transfering to LU. Also, you may enjoy this article. Hill City Sports
