RE: Favorite Stadium of the SBC.
I'll help. Any recent news on stadium renovations or expansions fellow Belters?

I'm excited to see how the new logos will look on our fields.

Equipment was moving into Paulson to begin the removal of the old video board. The area where it currently sits will be the site of the new field house. Construction on the field house and stadium expansion will begin in about 2 weeks.

Any plans for the old video board? We sent ours to the baseball field (it was only about 5 yrs old, if that)

Do you know if they are going to have some sort of video/time lapse set up so folks can "watch the progress?"

The old video board might be moved to the opposite endzone and placed atop the current field house. If that happens, I hope it is only temporary while the new one is set up. The current video board is worn out and has a habit of going on the fritz. A camera has been set up so people can follow the progress.

I'm aware of that. Let me rephrase it so you understand better. In 2014, you will have the worst FBS stadium apart from Idaho. Adding on won't fix it. And yes, playing a guitar WELL requires intelligence to understand complex music theory concepts.

Georgia Southern's stadium will be plenty nice enough. The field house will be top notch and the capacity will be right in line with other FBS move ups. Can we please quit derailing this?

It's not really derailing since the thread is about SBC stadiums, but I'd be glad to end it here. That being said...my favorite would have to be....I guess Texas State. I hated their stadium before the expansion, but it looks quite nice now. I remember driving by and seeing it their last year in the Southland when it had WAC stuff all over it. The expansion really transformed it. Second place would be App State. Very nice, but I just can't get over the track.

That's what I'm thinking. Lol.

I almost want to drive down and see it. Maybe it just takes very bad pictures.
Your new additions from what I've seen will still be in the bottom half of the conference as far as stadiums go. IMO.

But I'll hold off that judgement till I see the final product.

The war of the midgets i guess. What i like most about Paulson is that it is carved out of the landscape. The recent face lift looks nice. What will give our stadium the edge is the score board.

Ours sits in the ground too. But has concrete upper deck. With greenery around.

Once our expansion takes place soon we will have 2 scoreboards/video boards

No... But we will be next to have one... That's part of our next expansion plans that's about to take place.

Edit: I think App state has a small one on the visitor side

I definitely think its tough to judge stadiums from pictures. It takes visiting them to really feel the atmosphere, and soak in the scenery and appreciate the structures.

On that note I'll admit ours still leaves a bit to be desired, but the gameday atmosphere changes that perspective a lot. Both ours and Kidd Brewer have some work to do. Theirs is a bit nicer (and the scenery isn't bad either), but the way its built it reminds me of a glorified version of my high school's stadium, same layout/format, just a little bigger.

That's not a shot at KB either, I'm just saying we both have a lot of cosmetic and structural changes before either stadium "looks" like an FBS stadium.

We'll be getting two as well. Doubt the second over the Bishop will have video though. Here's a recent tweet from our AD.

Thomas Kleinlein @KleinleinAD

“@ZachDeutschGSU: so we are getting a new scoreboard?” @KleinleinAD Yes. Two actually. one for Bishop and one for the top of FB ops center.

So, you're really saying your high school's stadium looks to be more FBS ready than Georgia Southern's? 05-stirthepot

I guess that will make it hurt all the more when you have to come to Statesboro and LOSE in the worst FBS stadium in America.

Honestly, we are stoked about moving up and expanding the stadium. Things that should have begun YEARS ago. But thanks for your support anyway. And congrats on being the 12th best football program in Texas.

RE: Favorite Stadium of the SBC.
lol good one... but no. They are two completely different structures. Ours is built in the ground, yours is a giant Erector set.

No need to stir the pot, I've already said your stadium is still a bit nicer. It's just hard to compare one to another. Stadiums like ours and Veterans (Troy) will always look a fraction smaller than everyone else from the outside because half our stadium is buried. You cant really get the feel for them until you are standing in the bowl. That was my point. :)
