We will know the state is serious about its anti-gaming passions when the state outlaws the recruitment of athletes from those schools in states that support their programs with gaming funds. As it presently works, about 4/5ths of AU and UA signees are from such schools. Had such a law been in effect the last several years, we would have lost both Heisman Trophy winners, most of our NFL draft choices, and probably all of the 4 BCS NCs won while we were cutting back on per pupil public school funding at the highest amount in the USA.

During my 2 years working in GA, I played the lottery from time to time but never had more than 2 numbers right. If I should play & win today, I would consider it fair to give some to the B'ham City school district since they supported me and mine for 33 years (1964-1997). It would also be fun to become one of the higher levels of Blazer athletic program support groups too, like my brother. Maybe I could give enough to get a "BAMANBLAZERFAN MEMORIAL TURNSTILE" one day at the new OCS.

Any turnstile with Bama in the name should be used to account for bathroom visitor numbers.

I like my employer, and am grateful for employment, but their motives for hiring me weren't altruistic.

Saturday's Powerball has already been pushed to $550 million due to the ticket sales surge. A Powerball official being interviewed on the local 9 p.m. news here in Des Moines says it could top $650 million if ticket sales increase tomorrow and Saturday.

I bet the Pilot just across the state line on I20 will be backed up all day long Fri/Sat

What are you trying to say? Georgia shouldn't be recruited?

If Alabama had a world-class public education system, fully funded and well staffed, what would that do to the bammer supply? The marketing of bammer foooobaw is built on an endless pool of drooling ignorance. Who's going to patronize Greenetrack then? Who's going to vote for Bear's dermatologist? What will happen to sales of cough medicine?
