I hate UAb too, but we haven't played them in football yet. UAb could stop playing football tomorrow and I don't think the city of Birmingham would never notice.

I am somewhat confused how anyone can be a rival with UAB. They're like the afterthought of afterthoughts in any level of football. Troy used to be a big rival of Georgia Southern back in the FCS days, so I can see that easily sparking up again. App State and Georgia Southern are so similar in almost every way that we simply have to hate each other. Georgia State is probably not a true rival because they can't win anything and I almost feel sorry for their pathetically small following.

We really don't have any rivals yet in football as we don't have the history. These rivalries will come. Our biggest rival was WKU in basketball.

Due to all the changes in the conference, including South's new program, it will take a few years for everything to settle out and for rivals to develop. Some are natural, others will be born on the field. Let a few SBC championships be decided on some stange plays and the hatred will be born.

So beating you guys after you decided to chump us by making us the hc game would be a good way to start a rivalry

1. Memphis (Gene Bartow) even if we don't play for 5 years. The rivalry will live on.
2. Southern Miss
3. Troy (football only) p.s. please improve your basketball we're tired of the RPI hit.
4. The old sun belt rivalries for basketball that we're renewing (with football added) with WKU, Charlotte, and ODU
5. MTSU will develop & La tech too.

glad to know that the Red Wave out of Troy State uses my school as a measuring stick.

While they are annoying they are not as fun hate as UTSA. It's more fun to dislike a school that dislike you back. UT could care less about us.

All of that is getting a little less as people become informed. Most people who went to TXST from the early 2000s and on is because it was their 1st choice over ut an tamu. I've met plenty of people who were accepted to those schools and chose to come here, including my self and the valedictorian of my senior class.

Ut and tamu shirts have faded away(still some but not as many as in the past) on campus and is frowned upon. There are a some bandwagon alum/current students who may go to ut football games, but honestly if your school was right down the road from not just any other college, but UT you would have some serious challenges to compete with them.

At the end only UTSA is the school that can claim to be where all the ut rejects get sent to. They are the largest hub for students to try and transfer to ut. I don't have the exact percentage, but a very large chunk of the students there wish they were at UT.

My point is our loss to UAB hurts our RPI just like our loss to Alabama State (which I also dont understand how that happened) Otherwise our RPI would be much higher than the 50s

Not worth the time? If we're just talking basketball, fine. You guys have a tremendous lead on us in the all time series, we're playing good basketball now and hopefully it lasts so this rivalry could really grow into something big again, but in football? We lead 32-29-1 and have won four of the last five and seven of the last ten.

I'm sorry that you can't appreciate having a highly competitive rival with a similar approach to athletics just 100 miles away. I'm glad this rivalry is continuing.

Well, I know it is reciprocal from MU. Have asked you three other times why and you did not answer. Take it they have it in for Miami-Ohio because of a MAC championship game lose they had from what I can get from them.
