Can't waste an out here. Byrd has to be hitting away, but let's see if he can get his 4th free pass of the game.

Bummer, a little too late.

Good series win, though a sweep would have been big.

We gave this game away with two horrible innings. I just hope Big John is not hurt. Very unusual for him not be able to find the strikezone....at all.

And the offense had it's worst day in a week. We couldn't get a clutch hit with runners in scoring position. We scored 6 runs-- one scored on a double play with no outs, another scored on a balk (after a couple free passes), two scored on sac flies (both times with multiple runners in scoring position) and one scored on a ground out. In other words, only one run scored on a clutch HIT and that was a ground chop by Aquino with the bases loaded.

EDIT: Some discussion from JP about the relay throw from Cook being cut off from the new 3B (Taylor). JP says that Perrott didn't seem pleased at that cutoff. Can anybody watching the game comment on whether or not there would've been a play at the plate with that throw from Cook?

It seemed to me the throw was off line and would not get the runner at home. I thought it was a good cut.

spot on.

I think deep comebacks might be less common than in the past due to the bats. I recall us being down huge at home to USM a few years back and stormed back to win by many. hard to imagine that with the new bats.
