we didn't have Geron Johnson last year either. and we've got the reigning CUSA Defensive POY in DJ, whose getting way more minutes. I definitely like our chances against St Marys

Plus, last year it almost seemed like one of our players was treating the game as his private NBA audition. If we can avoid that type of thing this year, I like our chances.

We wilted last year. A two-point loss to #5 seeded and eventual Elite 8 finisher Arizona in 2011 was not wilting.

I wonder if Antonio is ready to play against him. IF he hadn't gotten hurt, he would give us another guy to help wear him down.

you can't put jj on him because deladova will go straight to the block and post him up and score over him. You have to defend him with CC and Geron, I think. He reminds me of that Gonzaga player who was a 6'4 or so big guard who used to score tons of points posting up smaller guards and shooting 3s. Everytime we played them we'd stick Antonio Anderson on him and he couldn't do squat

What have you seen out of Dova in the lane that would suggest that is his game?

he's posted up 3-4 times tonight and scored on a nice hook. he clearly likes to do it, i think marcos davis is a little too solidly built for him to out-strength though. trust me, you stick joe on him and he is backing joe down like mark jackson and trying to score in the post on him

He has 7 made shots. 5 on 3's. I don't think his posting is gonna be a problem. I guarantee you we will live with him trying to post Joe vs shooting 3's.

Well, that was fun and now we know who we're playing. Should be a good game and if we keeps our heads and play like we have been of late it should be a good Thursday night. But underestimating the enemy is a fast way to defeat.

i'm just answering the question. I think a lot of us have battered fan syndrome from repeated high expectations with this team. 3 preseason top 25 starts, all dropping out, 0-whatever top 25, underperforming in early season marquee games, the SLU game last year.

We should win this game. But St. Mary's plays a style I could see causing us problems and I guess I'm a little gunshy about brashly declaring it in the bag
