Yet another update on "affordable" ObamaCare!
MSN article on the insurance cost increases with ObamaCare.

How much? Try 20 - 100% increases, folks. This is what happens when a liberal Congress rams through a national health care plan that isnot thoroughly thought through and the Speaker of the House simply says "We had to pass it first to see what's in it."

Take the pain, America. You voted Obama back in for a 2nd term, so we deserve this.

Some of the reader comments are superb.

"Affordable Care Act" is an oxymoron.

We are so screwed.

What did people think was going to happen? Surely even Robs saw this coming.

Thanks, for posting the article. Completely wrecked my Friday evening. Every one of the "scenarios" they posited pretty much sums me and my business up. Guess I can look forward to doubling of the premiums, dropping my coverage and off to the "exchanges we go.

I'll let the rest of the slobs in the US pay for me and my employees health insurance.

I thank Huskie Jebus that my wife is a teacher with robust insurance coverage that I can join after my small company (115 people) can no longer offer insurance and the our employees are forced into Obamacare.

The exchanges = Medicaid

Better wear your comfy shoes to stand in line for about 2 months to get an appointment

Yeah, I remember the left saying, "The Republican plan is, if you get sick, die quickly."

They fail to mention that the Democrat plan is, "If you get sick, have a seat in a waiting room and take as long as you want to die."

Don't they generally give bills names that are the opposite of reality? e.g. the PATRIOT ACT.

My premium jumped ENORMOUSLY again this month. I had to TRIPLE my deductible to keep it affordable. I'm on the verge of pulling the plug and going catastrophic only and paying in cash.

I have a BCBS policy for my daughter. It has jumped 30% in the last 3 years. The evidence is overwhelming that this monstrosity is going to be a disaster for the working man.

I work in the industry as a techie... Let me just say if any of you could see the enormous expense these companies have to undertake to get on the exchanges it would baffle your mind.

A lot of these companies are still running old fortran and cobol on mainframes... why? because it works and MF's are nothing if not reliable. Now many have to try to get over to Java on midrange servers and they need a whole new software stack to do it.

Java is needed because there are not enough cobol/fortran guys out there to meet the industry demand.

All the AFA has done for me is make me wish I was (1) paid by the hour instead of salary and (2) made me unsure about my employment future once the govt exchanges are in.

The cost of some policies are going up and the cost of others are going down, but overall the legislation will reduce health care costs in America. I know you righties hate that.

Going down where? I call fabrics. I quick search found nothing to make one believe that is true. From what I gather...we are talking about a 20% increase nationwide.

I have no idea if the ACA will reduce costs in the long run. That is yet to be seen. My bet...You are dead wrong.

Still not sure this whole crazy Obamacare isn't designed to just make national health care more attractive. Any rational person would not implement this mess.

One example is in the OP's link.

Quote:In many states, insurers charge a 60-year-old customer $5 in premiums for every $1 they collect from a 24-year-old. The logic behind that is that older people use health care more and generate more expensive claims than younger customers, so insurers need to collect more to help pay their bills.

But the overhaul will narrow that ratio to 3-to-1. That alone could cause the premium for a 24-year-old who pays $1,200 annually to jump to $1,800, according to AHIP. Meanwhile, the 60-year-old who currently pays $6,000 will see a 10 percent drop in price.

That's not making health care cheaper, it's "spreading the wealth"

At least "spreading the wealth" is a consistent theme that makes sense somewhat in their actions.

RE: Yet another update on "affordable" ObamaCare!
The limiting of care has already started. The huge hospital my sister works at has decided to close their transplant units due to obamacare. The price of everything they use is going up, and the reimbursements are going down. They can no longer make enough money to justify doing transplants.
You know if one hospital is doing it, they all will be soon.

Thanks obi, pelosi, and you idiots who voted for obi in the first election believing all the media hype, and not investigating this socialist chicago thug.
