IF the Sun Belt brought in JMU and Liberty (oops there's that word again!), App State & Ga Southern and combined them with Ga State, WKU & Troy it would make for a nice division.

Sam Houston State is part of the Texas State University system (TSUS), same system we are a part of. But we don't run the system. We are merely a member, same as Sam (figured I'd post this before Sam fans think us bobcats are misrepresenting ourselves here).

The TSUS has no flagship university either. So we aren't the flagship. Our move to FBS might cause us to be a higher profile than the rest of the schools, but I feel fairly confident that the system itself doesn't want to put one university over the rest, so a flagship will not be named (anytime in the near future).

NOTE: Edited to fix the incorrect quoting.

sorry about that..thought you guys were the lead dog in that group..

Come on guys! It's a quote from a National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. They're all sitting around the table eating on x-mas eve, Clark (Chevy Chase) looks up and says to the kids that a pilot spotted Santa's sleigh. All the kids get excited. That's when cousin Eddie (Randy Quaid) looks up and says: "You serious Clark?"

Liberty, even though they won the Big South tournament championship, is only 15-20 on the year. Only the 2nd team in NCAA history to make the big dance with 20 losses. Don't know the details of whether they just got hot or other teams had injuries. Believe their women's team made it also.

I would suggest Christmas Vacation and Family Vacation but you're not missing much with European or Vegas Vacations.

Liberty beat the host team in the first game, the number one team from the North division (missing their freshman POTY due to injury), the number two team from the South (which had one its previous 8 games in a row) and the number one team from the South division in the championship. It was not an easy road.

The team had three starters injured early in the season and one never returned. As a whole, the team had a number of new players and got off to a very poor 0-8 start. They continued to play mediocre basketball until they won their final 5 games. Very disappointing season capped off with a great finish.

You ought to see the map for the Jonesboro market. Town that is 15 minutes away from Jonesboro is in the Memphis market. There are people in Jackson County who can walk outside and see KAIT's transmitter and can't get Little Rock with an antenna who are in the Little Rock market.
