Not bad considering those three had the most to lose. Without the BCS label, they're just like the rest of us nonAQ's. It will buy time and money until something better comes especially for UConn.

They are actually getting 30 million each according to the settlement that came out today. Total pot is 114M according to A Jersey Guy blog. Newbies get 10 Mil, C7 get 10 Mil, a couple mil for conference setup and 30 mil to UC, USF, and UConn.

Dude I could seriously care less. I've barely even followed the TV or money issues, I'm just thankful not to be left behind so none of that really matters at this point. We are with the group of schools with 30+ million dollar budgets and higher potiental and that's all I care about moving forward. It's obvious USM is the most bitter group of fans on this board and a year and a half later from the first departures.

Thats a nice haul for when they take their Olympics to the A-10 and Football to the MAC without paying an exit fee to the Big East.

After seeing how this deal has come down, the number of USM fans that feel bad about not moving has been drastically reduced. Now that the facts are known, it makes no sense to pay to join a league that won't be any better than the league we have. Many are seeing the potential of the new league as a real positive. The only sad part about ECU moving is that the sure win on the basketball court will be gone and replaced by far better basketball programs. Now that is a loss, but a real positive for our conference. Ten in a row Jonesing. Maybe in the GetRichQuick Conference you can actually be decent for once in basketball.

None of those schools ever did anything to deserve the BCS label to begin with. They're back where they belong and should be thankful they got their 15 mins while plenty of other schools with more history and tradition will never get that chance.

It seems to me that you either don't understand the meaning of the word "bitter" or else are projecting your own bitterness over the raw deal served up to ECU onto USM fans.

McMurphy reports that the schools joining the oldBE will get some of the $100m to offset the lower-than-anticipated TV deal.

Whatever helps you sleep at night bro, but that's not true. As bad as you think this deal or new conference will be, you sure don't see anyone clamering to go back to CUSA. You only see programs like yourself hiring people to help them get out. Good lucky helping those programs you added learn how to ride without training wheels, glad it's you and not us but then again wouldn't shock me if a couple of them beat your 0-12 boys. Can't talk much about your basketball team, they are good. Too bad like your football though no one cares to show up and see them which is exactly why you are still where you are.

When was the last time your football was ranked at the end of the year?
When was the last time your basketball team went to the NCAA's?
When was the last time your baseball went to Omaha?
If ECU won 15 straight games in football against USM, would they be ahead in the overall series?
How does it feel to lose ten in a row in basketball to USM? I know, I know,,,,,if, if, if,,,,,but,but,but,,,,,woulda, coulda, shoulda.

When you bring up all these past accomplishment and your facility and support still look about the same as you did 25 years ago all it screams is you've maxed out and will never be anything more, and there are certainly no assurances you will even be what you were continuing to run on a shoestring budget in the future as money driven as athletics is becoming if ERC really wants to talk about money.

You were just 0-12 this year in football, maybe you think it was a fluke, so did Marshall for a long time when they dropped but it never really got back. I'd much rather align with schools with a higher level of commitment and resources and potential at this point. You guys failed to build any foundation that was anymore substantial than App State, which is your own fault and ERC I absolutely wouldn't trade our 50k fans for what we've built here moving forward for what you got.

Several meetings of your new group have come and gone and no action has been taken for full membership. Before you insult people who have likely done far more in terms of donations and tickets to support their programs than you have look in the mirror. Your upside aint exactly sky high right now.
